Hi Can you please advise whether the following would be an acceptable referee for British Citizenship - Manager who is a British and qualified CIMA accountant - Non- British Director of a company which is VAT registered. Re: AN form printed both side

Hi Folks, Does anyone used an AN form printed both side ? Is that acceptable ?? I don't think that it is formally forbidden (wouldn't rule it out, though), but why would you do that? Assuming you don't have a professional printer, duplex is more troublesome, and if you make a mistake, you have to r...

No. With a solid, well thought-out cover letter that should not be a problem at all.

Re: Reason for Abscence for naturalisation application

Please in reference to your answer to 1&2 above. Does one have to include adresses where one was on hoiliday. I have applied on the basis of 3yrs married to a BC. In Jan 2010, my kids and i visited hubby outside the UK on holiday for about 50days and again in Aug for 20 days. Technically holidays a...

Re: Reason for Abscence for naturalisation application

1. In section 1.17 of form AN where you mention about pervious addresses of last 5 years, do I need to mention my Pakistani address? Yes, if you have holes in your past-addresses list, that would cause concern and delay your application substantially. Just list where you have lived, regardless whet...

Re: British Citizenship Application

In my understanding this point says that EEA Nationals should fill in this part by providing what they where doing over the 6 years? However, when I read the guide on this part of the applications it says that I DO NOT have to fill in this part of the application if I have Permanent Residence (infi...

Re: Passport interview office parking & taking 2 yr old

Does anyone know if parking is easily available at Reading and Luton passport office for the interview. In Luton the NCP operates a car park at the very same post code (LU1 2SJ ) as the passport interview office. According to Google Maps, that is just 0.2m walking distance. Prices are reasonable, s...

Why did you think P60s would be required? You are not the first person to be surprised how little supporting information needs to be supplied with a Naturalisation application. Maybe because such documents are required if applying for naturalisation directly following the EEA route. In that case, a...

I just applied for my citizenship here in UK through NCS. My payment has been deducted from my account and received the acknowledgement letter from HO on 16 January. I would just like to ask if I can travel outside UK while waiting for the result of my application. Yes, but you should be able to re...

Re: 3 Points on licence for Traffic Light offence

One solicitor has advised to wait for 5 years and then apply and Home office are now considering those points against your application. My understanding was that one minor offence or Fixed penalty notice in a year should not be a problem. I agree with your view. See this thread for more information...

HSMP start date as that's the date you would have the intent to stay in UK on a long term basis. Not sure if this is the right answer as you can count the time you lived on student visa towards your citizenship qualifying period so i think this date has to be when you came in UK No, you are right, ...

Thanks but its written at ukba website discretion given for 180 days if all other requirements met is it right? Theoretically yes, but it is a gamble. Caseworkers discretion is not easy to predict, and if you max out the thresholds in that way, there is a high risk of rejection. If you have 1000 qu...

No, you have to apply ILR first then BC. Under EU treaty rights, permanent residency, not indefinite leave to remain (similar, but not identical). dorian1986, in theory you get PR autmomatically after 5 years continuously exercising treaty rights, so you could apply for British citizenship after 6 ...

If someone is looking at it, why is it so hard to get an ETA? Even if it was longer still, we could stop stressing a bit.
