Oh, I see!
I didn't know that. I thought it was from the council directly.

I only got the acknowledgement letter yet...

KC8010 - maybe you can call your council.
If they are friendly enough they will say that they have your certificate there and can make an appointment for you.
Probably your invitation is stuck in a 2nd mail post room.

Hassain, I don't think that the call centre will have any further information. I think that they asked about conviction in order to filter the calls. That's a normal standard practice for call centre working. In order to save themselves some work they try to filter the call and see if there's any wa...

Hi John,
Thanks!
Yes, money was debited yesterday, the 20th. I am so relieved! Thanks!
Application reached HO on the 12th Jan and money debited on the 20th Jan.
I enclosed a prepaid special delivery envelope, and hopefully will help a bit in speeding up things. Have a nice weekend!

Osterly, Did you send your application with a prepaid special delivery envelope enclosed? If you didn't I would assume that you may receive your approval letter shortly (it may take 1 week to 10 days according to the other people posting their timelines). I assume that KC8010 got next day because of...

I'm really happy for you - Congratulations!!
So, did you receive the letter today?
What's the next step? You just need to contact the council for the ceremony or do you need to wait for them to contact you?

Well, as everyone else seems to receive the letter, and you didn't, I would call to know what's going on.
Take the chance now as it's 9am and the lines are not yet busy!

I can feel your pain. My application was posted on the 11th January, and they didn't even debit the card! Like the EEA4, I am always put in the bad queue!
I am paranoid because I am checking the payment slip and there's no space to sign. How can they debit the card without signing authorizing it?

Thanks!
I just wanted to know as I posted mine (my partner's) on the 11th January, and still haven't been debited on the credit card yet. I was just trying to work out how long we have to wait. Cheers!

If he has been since 2006 on the European route, this year he should qualify for permanent residence.
Why do you want to change for SET? If he would do this now, he would be permanent only in 2013.

Received back? Why? Already processed and approved application?
Or did they return without processing at all?
Why did they return it back to you?

Thanks Vinny, Your help is pretty much appreciated! I was just worried that I would have to wait my partner to have a British passport before I can apply, as it's written "everywhere" to include spouse or partner's passport or birth certificate - not mentioning naturalization certificate. So we will...

My other alternative is: If my partner (German) naturalizes British asap, can I apply for mine with only his naturalization certificate (and not the passport)? I will qualify then as I have been in the UK for more than 5 years and hold Permanent Residence under EEA regulations. I just need to know i...

Does the referee signatures “expireâ€

My referees signed the relevant section on the 7th Jan 2011, and I plan to apply on the 11th April 2011. I would like to know if this is alright or will it be too late?
I don’t want to bother them again and again for that.
Thanks for the advice.

The permanent residence card is only a confirmation of the rights you already acquired. Count 5 years from the date you have been a dependent of the EEA family member and plus 1 year of the "automatic" permanent residence. Then this is when you can apply for citizenship IF you provide the documentat...
