I am in the same boat, having a graduate and a post graduate degree from Indian university, which is accepted in the PBS calculator, and have used the same for my previous Tier 2 ICT applications. Can I use the box 'eligible based on previous application' or Use the PBS calculator to show the eligib...

EEA National exercising Treaty rights

Hello All, A friend of mine who is a EEA national has been living in the country since Nov 2007 and wants to apply for naturalisation now. She was a student from 2007 to 2010 (with a yellow card) and has been working since then, albeit with a gap of 1 month in Aug 2010 (no CSI) within the 5 years pe...

WP & Tier 2 ILR eligibility

Hello All, I posted this question on Tier 2 Visas forum in reply to other question, but got no response, so placing the question here as it seems appropriate. My details as below Dec 2008 - came to the UK on workpermit visa, valid for 1 year. Dec 2009 - at the end of workpermit, applied for sponsors...

Similar question, but my situation is different. Dec 2008 - came to the UK on workpermit visa, valid for 1 year. Dec 2009 - at the end of workpermit, applied for sponsorship extension within the uk, but had to go back to India and apply for visa extension, and was given a Tier 2 ICT visa for 6 month...

Thanks Jambo. That was my confusion too, as to whether to go for PR or apply for naturalisation directly based on the automatic PR status after completion of 5 years. But I understand if you apply for PR and use the same for naturalisation later, then the clock starts from the date of decision of PR...

Bit surprising that no one replied so far, may be the requirements are not straightforward in A2 countries case probably.... I have been reading details on UKBA website and found some materials on these, particularly the below information on the Guidance notes for Naturalisation as a British Citizen...

PR (ILR) for Romania National

Hello there, It's very confusing going through various information about ILR, EU regulations and additional regulations for A2 countries. There is not much info in UKBA website that I can find. I have a Romanian friend who came to the UK for studies in Sep 2007 and have been studying, living and wor...

I was asking about the rule that says "The Tier 2 (General) route will be subject to a limit of 20,700 places for 2011/12". ie for restricted CoS. Is that not for In-Country applications? I know it's difficult to predict the rules that they will come up with, but I was just wondering if there was an...

Thanks sushdmehta for your response and the link. Glad to know switching to Tier 2 General is still an option left for me. I will have to time it correctly next year when my current leave to remain expires. Just one other thing, there is a cap on the number of Tier 2 General visas they issue between...
