Re: Missing Life in the UK Certificate after Successful ILR

Don't worry, this is a normal practice for Home Office to keep the LiUK certificates. You just tick 'Yes' to the LiUK question the Citizenship application. I have seen dozens of people applying for Citizenship without sending the certificate as they didn't have one (it was taken by the Home Office a...

Re: ILR Success in July 2011 at Solihull

In old days, you could book an appointment online for free and could turn up at the PEO, but as Sudha suggested, you can no longer do this.

Re: Right of Abode transfer to new passport

See this:

If the holder applies to have a certificate of entitlement inserted in a new passport, they will need to apply for a new certificate to be issued. It is no longer possible for certificates of entitlement to be transferred into replacement passports.

Re: 9 addresses in the past 5 years - will they reject me?

Why would they think that you are unstable and there is no such thing as primary home. Stop worrying about this as this will have no effect on your application.

Re: Public Funds after getting ILR

1). You need to look at Benefits Calculator . No one will be able to tell you which benefits you qualify for as everyone's circumstances are different. 2). Your husband's earnings need to be below a certain threshold in order for you to qualify for the child benefit. Again I would advise to look at ...

Re: ILR holder-finger print returning at UK airports?

It's a common practice and not something new. Every BRP holder has to give finger prints so the IO can verify it's the same person who was originally issued the BRP.

There is no point of storing the finger prints on the chip (BRP) in the first place if no-one is ever going to match them.

Why are you still confused. Amber has already answered your question and I don't see any more confusion in it.

babyjake: If you check my timeline, it took me exactly 2 weeks to get the passport. So hopefully it shouldn't take long in your case (but it all depends on when you get the interview letter and how quickly you book an appointment).

No, I don't think they tell you if it was successful or not. You don't need to worry about it as the main aim of the interview is to prove your identity.

It's an invite and once you have it, you need to call HMPO to book an appointment for the passport interview in any of their offices.

chamelion: Which credit rating agency you are using ?

I know a friend who is using Experian but he didn't get an alert. I think like most banks, IPS only uses one of the three agencies. In my case, it's Equifax.

milleniumx99 : I'm sure this is a standard practice otherwise there is no way of finding out about your bank accounts, previous addresses, credit cards and mobile phone contracts etc. I pay for a monthly subscription for Equifax and I get an alert via text and email as soon as there is any activity...

As advised by CR001, the date on the approval letter is irrelevant. When you attend the ceremony, the council will write that date on your certificate. And you become British Citizen on that date (not on the day you receive your approval in the post).

Hi sarwar74. Hopefully the MP should be able to expedite your application. My application took 6 months to approve. I also had to get my MP involved who chased the Home Office on my behalf and the approval came through the door after 15 days of getting the MP involved.

As D4109125 advised, it doesn't really matter what you write in this but if you want to be précised, I would suggest write something like British Embassy Beijing if you are talking about Beijing in China (just...
