If you apply for BC before 28 October 2013, your existing LiUK will meet the requirement and you will not have to provide anything else.

But if you apply after 28 October 2013, you will have to provide both LiUK and one of the English Language tests from this list.

You can't apply for Citizenship directly. You have to apply for ILR first and once you have had ILR for 12 months (unless spouse of BC), you can then apply for Citizenship.

1.6 is where you will write the first and middle names. It doesn't say only, it says if different from the passport.

In your case if it's not different from the passport, then you don't need to provide any explanation on Page 13).

As UK is not part of Schengen Agreement, your son can't travel to Europe on a Tier-2 visa.

Even you can't travel if you have not become British Citizen yet and only hold ILR.
