usually the collection timing is the afternoon, and submission is in the morning...so this approach may not work..but please check the latest opening hours/time at the VFS you plan to use if there is an overlapping window.

Re: Complicated situation, your advice appreciated

Re: Can UK born child get OCI.?

PIO has not cancelled. The route has been closed and merged with OCI. All existing PIO card holders have been extended the benefits of OCI.
There is no need for the child to immediately apply for OCI, you can do that once the child's passport is renewed.

Re: Reissue of indian passport from UK

I don't think anyone can say it's not required as the official guidance says otherwise.
If you have insider knowledge or you have confidence on the persons that says it's not required, then you can try your luck without it.

the general thumb rule and practical way to determine the main destination is by considering the number of nights spent in each country. Exact duration of stay / hour min sec based calculations are difficult to verify and make it very complex. If you spend 3 nights in each country - then apply with ...

was the visitor registered with the surgery as a private patient? if so, then the surgery would be charging automatic for consultation / treatment.
if the visitor was not registered as a private patient, then it needs to be corrected.

Re: Lifelong validity endorsement

as per existing rules, this one year stay needs to be continuous however, the new citizenship bill will allow upto 30 days of absence, so one needs to stay 11 of 12 months in India preceeding any such application.
so good news to whoever wishes to explore these options.

Re: Lifelong validity endorsement

not all OCI holders were indian citizen's before or child of Indian citizens (such as OCI's through parent/grant parents routes, and as per new rules spouses)

hence 5(1)(g) is for people that don't qualify for 5(1)(f)
