I am not entirely sure... they might have a rough statistical data... but job wages for same position varies by company... and then the question is where are they going to get what job a person worked...they are asking Occupation not Job Title. why they want 10 years employment history from the applicant's? Any info you provide can (read will) be used against you. If you have been working when not authorised, or working more hours than authorised as a student etc. any time in the last 10 years then HO can give a hard time to those applica...

Student/PSW visa stay is not counted towards settlement so you will have to spend 5 years on refugee status before you can apply for an ILR and then a year later apply for naturalisation/passport

No appointment required to submit passport for visa sticker, you must take the payment receipt issued when submitting the application

The sticker rule is very much in place, you will have to personally go to drop your passport at VFS.
