Whitequeen, I can't see any reason others jump the queue. Only thing I can think off is applications are distributed and some UKBA staff are efficient and others not. Your case is worth handing to a journalist though as it seems unfair some get theirs after only a few months.

As far as I can tell from the information you provided, as long as both of your income is over £18,600 (which it is at £30K) and you can prove that you have been living together for a full 2 years, you should stand a good chance of winning the appeal. Can someone please clarify this? It doesn't aff...

She would need a letter from her employer stating annual earnings, 6 months of payslips and 6 months of bank statements. The UKBA will see she is employed and the bank statements will show her earnings for the past 6 months. This is needed as proof that earnings meet the annual treshold.

I'm guessing you can get married in the UK in a church. You will need to leave the UK before your vistor visa expires to avoid being an overstayer. If you try and marry through your local council you may have to show a fiance visa in your passport. You may need to explain later why you married in th...

You could encounter problems as you would be applying for the wrong visa. Stating that you're staying for 6 months as a visitor is like holding up a red flag. They could easily assume your spouse is going to overstay and refuse the vistor visa or refuse her entry once she arrives. Vistor visa is onl...

The delays in issuing a fiance visa vary from country to country. Use this link to see the timeline for your country. http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas-immigration/general-info/processing-times/ There are delays. Bear in mind that once you enter into the UK you must marry within 6 months and a...

As long as you have one document it should be fine. You could also get a letter from the Landlord confirming you both live at the premises.

Fiance Visa success took 16 working days from application date with biometrics done at the same time to collection.

Now my fiance has both and Irish passport with a EEA stamp and a British Passport. Which passport is better for me when I apply for FLR and later ILR?

Sorry she is a Irish and British Citizen carrying both passports, already settled in the UK. She was asked why only her middle name is used and had to do affidavits as proof when she obtained her British passport. Also all her utility bills and bank statements all appear with her middle name.

I read the documents you submitted and it still took them 60 days. It is so unclear why some people have a fiance visa in 10 working days and others 60. When looking at the UKBA website on processing times this seems to happen all around the world.

Well done for getting the visa.

That is good news to hear. Especially when reading the forum it almost appears that over stayers will not succeed. I haven't overstayed myself as didn't want that to get in the way of my application.

I would submit an independent accommodation report and a letter from the landlord allowing your wife and child to live there. Make sure the accommodation report gives dimensions and add photos. Then you will be able to prove that your accommodation meets their requirements.

You should start a paper trail with your wife's name appearing on utility bills and bank accounts from the moment she arrives in the UK. Then keep them in a file for citizenship later as proof you have been together all that time.

Well how could you know that a certificate was genuine if it's foreign. But people who live in that country would be able to identify it as a genuine document since they would have seen them often. That is just my opinion on why it's better to apply from the country of origin.
