You need your passport as well - the PR card is not a travel document as far as I know, but is useful on re-entry to UK if you are non-EEA. Can any of you tell me if application for PR can be made 3-4 months before the 5 years residenc card expire? As far as I know if you live in U.K. For 5 years from the first day you enter the uk with eea family permit then you can apply for PR without having to wait for your residence card to expire...
