Re: "Social and Cultural ties to your native country&qu

Hi all, I'm a New Zealander soon to apply for ILR in person. On form SET(O) there is question 7.12: "Please state what ties you have with the country where you were born" and in the answer box there is the heading "Social cultural or family ties". It seems to me somewhat like a booby-trap question....

I agree with db83, there is no point generalising. SOmetimes you have it harder than the rest. That doesnt mean that people are only writing about good experiences. We dont have professional writers in this forum and people generally share experiences here good as well as bad. we have seen many horr...

Re: ILR - Qualifying period for dependants

Hi I came to UK in Nov 2010 as dependant of my husband who is in Tier 1 General visa. I went back to India in June 2011 to have my baby there and came back to UK in June 2012. My husband is going to apply for ILR this July. My question is how soon can I apply for ILR, do I have to be in UK continuo...

Re: query

I have been told by some lawyer that I may not be able to apply before July and my visa will be expired on June 23. obviously the lawyer doesn't know what he is talking.you can apply 28 days before the 5th anniversary of your initial Entry Clearance (Visa Stamping) if you entered the country within...

the reason the new employer might not have deducted the NI is that your previous employer might have charged you more in the full and final settlement.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. If you want you can call up HMRC and talk to them or maybe talk to your company's payroll dept.

Re: Do I qualify forILR

You entered within 90 days on your EC so technically you could have applied 28 days before 4th april 2015. However, because your visa was extended on 28th Feb you do not complete 5 years of sta in the UK. So you might need one more extension. I am sure no PEO will entertain such applications. You c...

Maybe add bank statements. Also they don't need statements for all months in 2 yrs so take 10-15 docs from 3-4 sources. I submitted about 14 and case worker only wanted 6 of them.

Thanks uksettlement. Thats the catch. Most of the Indian IT companies in UL sent their employees to India for 3+ months and they don't pay UK salary for that period. Hi uksettlement, Does that mean that we can be away from UK for upto 180 days and not required to show any proof. Hey uksettlement, Thanks for your reply. To calculate the number of days: If I left UK on 1 Jan and returned UK on 18 Jan, then the number of days of absence will be 18 or 16. I mean, the days I left and returned to UK will be counted as absence or presence in UK. Thanks. Absence will be 18 from UK...
