One person who cannot pay for the ILR and leaves the country is a preferred scenario for ukba. I am sure they will not have a problem deporting this individual as its going for tax payers money. Also, sending a person back means one less potential new citizen.

What if someone is totally skint, so is his/her sponsor, has no family, has no one to rely on to pay application fee for ILR before his visa runs out. What happens to such a person? I would suggest keep looking for alternate appointment creating a new id. At the same time if your day approaches go for the PEO appointment and just say this is what happened and I was told by call centre to come and that you would consider. I am sure they will allow you.
