Re: EEA4 - MATERNITY LEAVE

Thanks for your reply. I think I will only be able to apply for PR in early 2016. It is a shame that the one year abroad has reset the clock really - but I didn't know about this at the time. Anyways, can't cry over spilled milk. My only concern is whether my last 3 months of unpaid maternity leave ...

Re: EEA4 - MATERNITY LEAVE

Thanks for your reply! The last three months of my maternity leave will be unpaid, however, I still have a contract and will go back to work after that. Also, I will most likely go back part time. Does that affect my status as an EU citizen exercising treaty rights? Do I have any chance of being gra...

EEA4 - MATERNITY LEAVE

Hi there, My husband (non EEA national) and I (EEA national) are expecting our first baby. I have been in continuous employment since early 2011. I understand that Statutory Maternity Pay is not considered public funds and will thus not affect his EEA4 application in a couple of years from now? Is t...

Re: Public funds related question.

Hi there, My husband (non EEA national) and I (EEA national) are in the same situation. I understand that Statutory Maternity Pay is not considered public funds and will thus not affect his EEA4 application in a couple of years from now? I will still be employed during maternity leave and am plannin...

EEA 4 - Section 8 - Special Circumstances

Hi there, I have a question regarding section 8 - time spent outside the UK. It says "absences due to special circumstances will not affect your period of residence". What does that mean? Does it depend on the individual caseworker what sort of 'special circumstances' will not affect your PR applica...

Thanks for your quick reply, Jambo. It was a continuous absence for over a year. We did not visit the UK during that time. We got married abroad and came back to the UK a few months after that. Upon returning to the UK I was unemployed and it took me a few months to find a job. Does that mean he cou...

EEA4 Eligibility

Hi All, I hope someone can help me with my enquiry and set my mind to rest... I am wondering if we can apply for my husband's PR earlier than 2016 given following history: I am the EU citizen and came to the UK in 2005 to study. I finished my studies in September 2006 and started a job in February 2...

We have finally received my husband's RC. (see timeline below). The HO issued it just within 6 months but to be honest when we sent it off back in Feb I did not expect it to take so long. I think the way they deal with these applications is appalling. Anyways, I am happy we have finally received it ...

I just spoke to someone at the HO but no information was given to me about my husband's application. I sort of expected it because we are still within the 6 months but I thought I'll give it a try. We have 3 more weeks until the 6 months are up.

thanks for your replies guys.

this is what puzzled me:

'Currently if you're British or >settled in the UK<' ...... taken from the JCWI article. does being an EU citizen and exercising treaty rights not count as >settled in the UK<?

New Immigration Rules - June 2012

Guardian article reveals that new rules under family immigration are to be implemented next week. My question is whether this applies to non-EU spouses of EU citizens or just non-EU spouses of British citizens? This is the article: http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2012/jun/08/immigration-rules-couples-s...

As far as I know you'll be fine travelling to turkey without applying for a visa. As long as you have a valid visa for the UK they will issue you the turkish visa on entry. I'll be travelling together with my spouse but we're going to Greece. They do require me to get a schengen visa if I don't have...
