My advice: do not take chances with immigration matters. You could miss your flight or refused by the carrier. And airfare on short notice for three from India to London does not come cheap.

'Special delivery' implies delivered to a person, usually the accepting person ( mail room, reception, etc) signing for it. This is not possible with post box, free post or not.

in your case, your 5 yr qualifying period starts from WP visa stamp date. so use that date to work out the 28 days window for ILR application

you can only switch while the application is awaiting decision. appeal means you dont have an outstanding application that can be varied or switched. however if you are eligible otherwise, you may apply with a fresh application for the same or different category.
