Re: No response

Suggest you wait patiently. It has only been 8 working days. Remember Easter was in between and HO are likely dealing with a huge number of applications submitted before the fee increase on 18th March.

Re: council housing CTC WTC

There is a very long waiting list for council housing or housing association. Some people have waited years on the list and are still waiting. If the council helps you, it will likely only be temporary accommodation (B&B or hostel etc). Tax credits must be in joint names. Mentioning your wife is not...

Re: Renewal of leave to remain

You will need to be a bit more specific. There are many categories of 'leave to remain'.

Are you on a spouse settlement visa?

How long have you had it and been in the UK?

What do you mean by 'has no restriction on it?

Re: Sponsor cancelled my Tier 2 Visa! But I want to join aga

It shouldn't be a problem for future applications, but you will have a big cross and 'refused entry' in your passport, which any other country you wish to go to for either work or holiday will see. As you have no job etc, what is the purpose of returning for such a short period? What 'good reason' d...

And which form did they send him or tell him to apply on? What was the fee you paid for this application?

Why didn't he apply for another 5 year residence card?

Re: ILR to BRP(NTL)

The BRP card expires after 10 years and has to be renewed. Just like a drivers licence. If you leave the UK and move abroad for 2 or more years, ILR is automatically lost. Short visits to the UK does not maintain ILR status. Suggest you apply for citizenship to avoid losing the right to live in the ...

Re: Tier 2 General Dependant renewal - How early can I renew

If you apply to early, you will end up with a shortfall for ILR if only granted a PBS dep extension for 2 years.

Any particular reason why you want to apply early and not 'within 28 days of expiry'?

Re: ILR

How long has he been in the UK?

He can't apply for ILR (which is under the UK immigration rules) if he was on a EEA residence card.

Re: ILR to BRP(NTL)

By post it can take a few weeks to a few months.

For an extra £500, you can apply in person for a same day process, see link below and 'NTL'.

Re: ILR

Did your spouse apply for ILR or for PR? Previous posts indicate PR and EEA route. What was your partners immigration status before applying for ILR/PR?

Re: ILR to BRP(NTL)

If you are required to enroll your biometrics again (it is not a test), this is done once HO sends you a letter asking you to do it which will have a barcode on specific to you. Take the letter to the Post Office, pay the £19-20 fee and enroll them there.

Wouldn't that make the 'employee' a 'partner' then?

Maybe if you explained more about your situation you will get more constructive advice.

1. Straightforward if your new sponsor has followed the proper RLMT process and issued a CoS etc.

2. I don't know, read the guidance notes.

Don't know why you think it is a problem. It if is employment, just list it as required in the form. If you were self employed and your tax/income affairs are all in order then no problem.

Re: FLR M visa postal or appointment application

If you apply before you visa expires, your existing visa conditions continue while HO is processing your application, so no, you will not be an overstayer or breaching any laws/rules.

If you are prepared to give a European country a go (cheaper immigration process and no financial requirement), have a look at the link below. A few months of you exercising your treaty rights in the EU (not the UK) and you can use the route to come back to the UK with your spouse. Much cheaper opti...

What visa are you apply for that is so specific in duration? 2. Not if your dependents extend their Tier 2 ICT dependent visas 3. I don't know

Hi geriatrix, The reason I posted my queries on Tier 1(g) forum was because even though I would be applying for settlement, I still consider myself as Tier1(g) migrant. As abhishek9 pointed out it was much easier to address the issues where most of people are still Tier1 and will understand better ...
