Re: inquiring ( plz help )

Yes it will be, you cannot marry in the UK if you are on a normal visitor visa and you are certainly not allowed to work either.

Re: spouse citizenship

Please be patient, it can take a couple of weeks for payment and letter to be processed. Acknowledgement letter is only sent out after payment is deducted.

If there is a problem with the application, they will write to you.

Re: British citizenship children

To register as British on MN1 it is £673 per child if applying at different times or if applying for two children together (separate forms though) it is a joint fee of £1178. Fees go up on 6th April each year. http://www.ind.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/documents/britishcitizenship/nationality-fees...

Re: British citizenship children

My daughters MN1 registration took 5 weeks, so it is generally quite quick if all your docs are in order and you have the money to pay.

Re: ILR for spouse and children after husband got ILR

@dk2011 can you perhaps use a different colour font or put your responses in bold as it is very difficult to see that you have responded and looks like you are copy the OP post. Have seen this in a number of replies.

Thanks

Please don't use capitals, it is considered shouting and is difficult to read.

Re: ILR Long Residency Info required

Hi All, I am due to apply for my ILR next month on long residency basis (10 years). I entered in the UK on 11.02.2004 as a student which continued till aug 2008, i then got Fresh Talent (post study work visa) and in 2010 I changed my visa to T1 General. Currently I am on 2nd extension of T1 General...

Re: British citizenship children

I think in all probability, you will need to apply for MN1 and then for their passports once you receive the certificate.

It is unfortunate that you were not married at the time of their birth.

Re: British citizenship children

I am not 100% sure in this case as you were not married to their mother. Do you feature on the birth certificates as the father?

Re: ILR required for BC Spouse or not?

To be able to apply for naturalisation, you have to have ILR. You cannot go from PBS dependent straight to naturalisation.

Re: British citizenship children

Yes it does as they might be able to apply directly for British passports and you would not need to register them on MN1 first. Were your children born before July 2006? Were you married to their mother at the time of their birth? See below link and extract : https://www.gov.uk/british-passport-elig...

Re: British citizenship children

MN1 applications take a couple of weeks to a couple of months, depends how busy UKBA are. You will receive their certificates in the post and once you have that, you can apply for their passports.

Were you British at the time of their birth??

Re: PLACE OF ISSUE on British Passp. Applic.?

Certificate clearly states 'HOME OFFICE LONDON' and that is what you need to put on the form.

The council where you attended your ceremony writes the date in. Have you contacted them to seek help.

Re: British citizenship children

If they were born in the UK, apply on MN1 under section 1(3) to register them as citizens. Once you receive their certificate, apply for passport.
