Re: Schengen visa remarks means

I assume you mean the same thing but you are probably mixing two different things: 1. Family member of EU citizen (especially non-EU family members) and 2. their right of free movement within EU/EEA/CH. One never cease to be a family member (barring divorce etc) but their right of free movement are ...

Re: Romania Invitation

Hi, not sure if you have filed the application or not. However here is the rundown of your requirements. The invitation you refer has to be submitted prior to application of a visa to Romania. Your fiancée will have to do it in Romania. I suggest she ask someone in her family to submit the invitatio...

Re: Schengen visa remarks means

You've lost me a bit: You are forgetting the most crucial part of the wordings - family member of an "EU" national. For the purpose of immigration, a UK national who is not in an another member state is not considered to be an EU national. A UK national is only considered as a "EU" when he is in ano...

Re: Schengen visa remarks means

You see, I was under the impression that it is under the IO decision to ask or not to ask. Your post made me research further and ask a couple of people who had the same experience. Turns out EU has a Practical Handbook for Border Guards (SchengenHandbook). In it there is a special chapter for how t...

Re: Schengen visa remarks means

Yes, I did. Entered Germany and Italy (in 2015 and 2016 for a total of 3 times) directly from Beijing, China with no problems. At Malpensa Airport (Milan) I even used the EU citizens lane. No issues. All these times, my wife, an EU citizen came two days later. We had already booked the hotel and pai...

Re: Schengen visa remarks means

Think of free movement in this way. your spouse has an employee fitness pass to the gym, only with this pass the gym door opens, If you travel together he/she can open it for you. If he is already inside he/she can come to the door and open it for you. If you go there alone and he comes after, you ...

Re: Schengen visa remarks means

Technically, it is a gray area. In practice, it is my opinion, that as long as it is to join the EU citizen who is connected with your visa, you can travel alone. Most immigration officers do not ask because they just assume if you are traveling alone, you must be joining your spouse. Ryanair probab...

Re: EEA FP: To accompany/to join

Hi fullcircle, Would love to hear how did it go. I am also in the same boat except that, I decided to withdraw the application. We had planned to travel to the UK early August. I am a non-EEA citizen and applied for an EEA FP on June 05, 2017 in Beijing, China. I chose this route because the documen...

Re: EEA Family Permit for Non-EU Family members (visiting UK

It seems that the answers that I seek can be found at this https://www.immigrationboards.com/eea-route-applications/eea-faqs-common-questions-read-before-posting-t114867.html in the forum. By the way if anyone has done this,[a visit to UK of a non-EEA family member together with EEA spouse through E...

EEA Family Permit for Non-EU Family members (visiting UK)

Hi, I am a Tanzanian married to a Bulgarian citizen for over 9 years. At the moment we are not living in Bulgaria, so I do not have Bulgaria's residence permit. We (my wife, my baby and I) are planning to visit UK during August for almost 10 days. I have already filled in and paid the fees for gener...
