Re: Student visa from another country help needed urgently

will i be able to apply for British student visa while i am in Russia on student visa, or will I have to come back to my home country and then apply? Based the UKVI guidance it appears that you would only be able to apply for entry clearance from a country where you are a resident. So the answer wo...

Re: Pension of EU citizens after Brexit

There is no problem for a British citizen but will be a problem for non-British in the future. As pension is paid at the moment to EU citizen, because the UK is part of EU umbrella . Is that statement correct? Or have I misunderstood what you meant to say? I haven't done much research or reading ar...

Re: Unsuccessful Application

Hi I was in the country on a student visa from 2001 till 2004. I left the country within my visa. I came back in 2009 on Tier 1 and got ILR. I applied for Naturalisation early this year and now I received a letter from Home Office that " ACCORDING TO OUR RECORDS YOU WERE IN THE UK WITHOUT LEAVE TO ...

Hi guys, I understand that my question about renting a car as a foreign student might not be that relevant on this forum. I've been trying to find this out but to no avail, so I decided to try my luck asking it here. Can anyone kindly help if you know the answer? I am a Malaysian student which I've...

I'm not sure if the 40 days is to return the SAR result or just to respond to you I seem to remember that this point was discussed on these forums a while ago, but can't seem to find the thread. It is not entirely clear if a holding response within 40 days meets the legal requirement of the Data Pr...

cs95tdg I guess you had a copy of the FOrm AN Guidance which was before June 2016 is that right? Yeahh so frustrating as we read the guidance before the change, then put together the application/referees and by the time we posted it the change had taken place. We should have checked the day we sent...

Re: Advantages of having British passport compare to ILR

I've never personally been been through a fingerprint check when leaving the UK, only when entering. I think exit checks only started last year. If you acquired BC before then, your biometrics likely would not be checked on exit. Again another inconsistency then as I only acquired BC this year. Tra...

The most straightforward and recommended option would be for her to apply for a British passport before she leaves. But assume you are asking because that isn't possible at this time? Based on your post, is your intention to show both US border control and the airline her current US passport, implyi...

Re: Advantages of having British passport compare to ILR

Yes, agree it could be anything. I've never particularly been bothered by it, as it was consistent on every entry. And it also seemed a logical thing to do, if you do have biometric permit to verify that the biometrics of the person entering matches what's on record.

Re: ILR BRP received with documents No Passports..!!

Not sure, but you could try. If you applied in person, then I would have expected the supporting documents to be returned on the same day, unless perhaps there was a delay in the decision? When I applied in person, everything was returned on the same day. If documents are sent by second class post, ...

Re: ILR BRP received with documents No Passports..!!

Supporting documents including passport are normally sent separately. If you applied by post and also included a self-addressed return envelope (special delivery with tracking) then you could try tracking it. If no envelope was included then I suspect they would be sent by standard second class post...

I have never had that, so have no idea about it. I think what the OP is referring the BRP fingerprint verification that's done every time you re-enter the UK. Those who've never had a Biometric permit wouldn't be familiar with this step as you just show your passport with visa vignette/ILR stamp in...
