Re: ILR re-entry into UK for wife

As far as my husband was concerned they asked basic questions...how did he get his ILR, where does he work, live etc. On the first occasion soon after being granted ILR they kept him waiting while they checked the validity of his visa on the system. That's not too bad, although to meet the new rule...

Re: Citizenship Refused - Was I staying unlawful?

Different ways to argue that. It could be argued that overstay of less than 28 days is ignored only for the purposes of applications under the Immigration Rules and not for applications made under any other law. I think the point that the OP was considering was the following under the nationality g...

Re: Do you need to provide payslips with form AN if applying

You don't need to ask for proof, they will give you the HO sheet with barcode, and a sticker will be affixed to it with barcode reference, amount paid and the date/time.

Re: Wrong Nationality on Electoral Roll

Guessing the online system does not force user selection of nationality. Will probably give the council a call to advise them of nationality even though I've always been eligible to vote, before naturalisation. When you register online you have to select your nationality from a drop-down menu! If y...

Re: Do you need to provide payslips with form AN if applying

Well the payment has left our account and also my wife got a letter acknowledging the application and also the bio-metric letter. Only thing I was worried about is that the letter lists the documents we sent with the application but it doesn't list the English Test and the Life in the UK test or th...

Re: Wrong Nationality on Electoral Roll

Looking at the form I've just received this month, it does appear I am mistaken - I.e. it's not listed as optional anymore - even though it's actually left as blank in my case. In recent years I've just confirmed my details online (not using the paper form), since I've lived at the same address for ...

Re: Tracking Schengen visa

How long has it been since you submitted your application? Agree that the status doesn't give away much, it could be either that it's in a queue or being processed. But with that wording I'm more included to believe that it's being processed, or at least they are doing the necessary background check...

Also, having applied for settlement in less than 28 days after withdrawal of the appeal, and the application been subsequently granted, wouldnt call for discretion to be applied according to pragraph 8.10 of the staff guidance --> https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data...

Re: Wrong Nationality on Electoral Roll

I have told the landlord that I was Spanish. When the electoral register form came he filled it up and noted my nationally as Spanish instead of Chile where I am originally from. Recently I have noticed that I am still registered when I accessed my credit report. Have you made any attempt to correc...

Re: Unsuccessful Application

If he was outside the UK and receiving pay, then it is perfectly fine, and not subject to the 1971 act, and it cannot be said that he was working in the UK without leave, as he was not a person that require leave. Agree, with that, as have in the past been a similar situation for a short period of ...

The thing is that when I left UK and my UK visa expires, my employer keep me on payroll till I came back to UK on Tier 1 General. Just so it's clear to anyone who attempts to advise next, do you now mean that what you said previously, underlined below was incorrect? I also want to mention here that...

Re: Tracking Schengen visa

Not sure what you were advised by the tls/vfs when you enquired at the time you submitted your application, but I've always received my passport back within 5-10 days from submission. Note however my applications were never made during peak holiday periods. You may want to check their website or enq...

Re: Subject Access Request

I am applying for my ILR this year. Do I need my recent SAR? Having a SAR record is not a pre-requisite for an ILR application. Whether you request one is a personal choice depending on whether you require information on your previous immigration history that you do not have with you to complete yo...

Re: Tracking Schengen visa

I don't recall what the statuses are, but do know that you get a notification from the intermediary (tls contact or vfs) when the embassy returns your passport to them and it's ready for collection. I don't recall the statuses being that detailed or even updated that much during the time the applica...

Interesting, I wasn't entirely sure the site was down. I felt at one point that it was to do with restrictions on access depending the wifi or mobile data carrier. Though I have to say I was puzzled. I had access to 3 different networks (EE-wifi, Vodafone & three-mobile) and was able to launch the i...

It would depend on the number of days that have been granted on the visa. This is independent to the fact that the visa permits Multiple entries and is valid from & to a specific date.
