Question about referees for citizenship application

I'd be grateful is someone could clarify the following:

1. Can a British diplomat be used as a referee for the citizenship application process?

2. Can a Home Office employee serve as a referee?

Many thanks in advance.

Re: Naturalization after ILR approval (if salary reduce due to down sizing)

If your salary was increased to 35,000 just before you applied, and it is reduced to 25,000 for the same number of hours, it looks very suspicious. How long before ILR did your salary rise above 35,000? Are you still doing the same number of hours, or are you going part time?

Re: British Citizenship - New Online Application

An important thing to keep in mind with new government digital services in the UK is that they'll evolve very quickly. The general idea is to release something basic that does the straightforward things as quickly as possible, and then iterate/improve on it and add further features, based on feedbac...

BRP Delivery - any advance notice?

Hello,

I switched immigration status recently and a new BRP has been ordered.

Will I get an advance alert (email or text) from DX prior to delivery, so I know which day to arrange to be at home?

Re: Long Residence (10 years) SET (LR) applications

Hello all, I arrived in UK on February 3rd 2008, so Saturday, February 3rd 2018 would be the 10 year point. How does the 28 days rule work? Can I apply in person exactly 28 days before (Saturday, January 6th 2018) or does it have to be LESS than 28 days, hence Monday, January 8th 2018? Also, will a ...

Re: Long Residence (10 years) SET (LR) applications

Hello all, I need some clarification on qualifying period. My first entry clearance (student visa) was 23rd January 2008. I arrived in the UK on 3rd February 2008. Is the qualifying period 28 days before 23rd January 2018, or 28 days before 3rd February 2018? Also is it ok to apply on the 28th day ...

Re: Tier 2 Extension. Conversion of SOC2000 to SOC2010

The problem is that the old SOC 2000 1136 code included 'Business Analyst' as one of the job types with this specification in 2012, when I got the first work permit: Business analyst Responsible for defining the commercial objectives of computer systems. May action some prototyping within user servi...

Tier 2 Extension. Conversion of SOC2000 to SOC2010

Hello all, I'm currently in the process of renewing my Tier 2 visa. My old visa was under SOC Code 1136 with the specific job being "Business Analyst" with an appropriate salary of £31,200. Now there's a new SOC Code 2135 for Business Analyst (the appropriate salary rose from £31,200 to £33,000 this...

CCJ and switching visa to Tier 2.

Hello, I've been in the UK for about half a decade as a student and never had issues managing my debt until last year. For several months I had no money and ended up with a CCJ. I need to switch to a tier 2 from tier 4 now (I have a job offer from a willing sponsor). I would obviously be declaring t...
