Hi I have got a refund from HMRC for the excess tax I paid. Amount was circa 4k & put back in to my personal account. I have changed my address twice after I got my extension but I have never reported any address changes to HO.
It is recommended but not required.

It's a different story if you are awaiting a response from UKBA or you are required to register with police.

I am sure Tier 1 (General) dependants are not affected by these changes. Dependants can always apply/extend their visas. Unless board gurus have something specific to share. Thanks.
