Re: Help! Marrying a person with child India

ibrahim9140, in the case of birth certificate, your hassles are sorted to a great extent. Again my views. as now she is sole person mentioned in birth certificate, no marriage therefore no divorce documents required. If as you say birth certificate is a strong supporting document showing the relatio...

Re: Long term visitor visa for parents

Hi there, In my case we applied for 5 year visitor visa for my mother in law successfully. She had been here only once prior to that. Its how you present the case. If you were solely bringing your in laws to save childcare costs, then in my view it doesn't make a cut from ECO's perspective. If the i...

Re: What should be the duration for family visitor visa?

Hi, Visitor visa when my parents, my brother, my mother in law, when applied first time got for 6 months every time. Don't worry too much. My brother only stayed for 10 days. my parents hardly 2.5 months. its subjective. however make sure you buy travel insurance to cover their actual stay duration....

Re: Help! Marrying a person with child India

Hello, In paperwork context your case is can of worms. Sorry to state like this but better get solicitor involved for appropriate advice. what does child's birth certificate say? India is not that advanced in single parent legal terms, if I am correct. Sole responsibility: Court should still be able...

OP:

Ideally the 6-8 weeks mentioned by other member maybe at particular location, if you located elsewhere in the UK other than London area then the timeline vary drastically, e.g. currently in Scotland its 6 months timeline for OCI, so visit visa in advance makes sense in such case.

Good luck.

As you have already gone for postal application, so just wait and enjoy. Everything will happen in time. Demand draft is India banking term which HCI/CGI has used, although you get drafts through UK banks, its costs may be at par to some extent with PO.

PO is the most used route.

It does not disbar anyone from applying in person at HCI London. You seem to know the reason why jurisdictions exist, officially? As mentioned earlier, irrespectiv...

Re: OCI Application - HCI London vs CGI Birmingham

I'm not wrong and here is why: While filling in PART A of the online application form, if one selects "UK-Birmingham" on the "Place of Submission" field, the application cannot be submitted at HCI London. The clarification "GBRB (Birmingham application will not be accepted in HCI London" is meant fo...

Re: urgent help needed, posting OCI tomorrow

This query came to my mind, just before posting my OCI documents. 1. When I have fillied OCI form online for me and two kids, there are three GBRI numbers generated, one for each application. That does mean it doesn't consider as family application? I assume family application has only one GBRI num...

Re: Patience

venga_pal,

Just take your focus off form this OCI status, it will help you, from personal experience.

I understand your frustration, as I am going through the same boat. However it wont be helpful for us to get frustrated like that.

It will happen in time.

Good luck.

Q1. Yes it is required. Its futile questioning the provision, I have been through so many times for the same.

Q2. Copies of original documents, not the originals.

Good luck.
