It depends on the nature of the property, location of the letter box and delivery person's assessment of the security of such delivery. If it's a house (not a flat) and the letterbox is at the door (delivers within the house) there is a high possibility that the passports would be delivered without...

I can confirm; my French passport is 88mm wide and my Irish one is 92mm. I was trying to have a look at people's passport on the queue to board the plane in London today, and I am pretty sure the Irish ones were all wider. With just 4mm difference it is difficult to be absolutely sure just looking ...

Re: MP Letter to speed up the application

Does anyone have any idea regarding MP letter, how to request a MP to write a letter to HO for speed up the process. Just contact your MP (but don't bother until 6 months has elapsed). And please say yes no answer as well whether HO follow first in first out rules strictly or not ? No. They say "Th...

You are not crazy. My Irish passport is definitely wider than my French one - and the Irish one definitely is the one which is wider that most other countries' passports I have has the chance to see. Thanks jeupsy. That's encouraging: I thought I was crazy. Could you measure your passports when you...

If you have one that does not conform, ask the issuer why.
Thanks a lot. That's very disconcerting. In that case, I will call the passport office to ask why and report back here.

When you were filling the application form, there is choice of 2 different types. One is long type for people needing extra pages for visas, stamps, etc and one is the standard EU size. You must have chosen the Big passport No, I chose the small thin (cheaper) version. The problem is that it's (near...

Irish passport size

I was highly pleased to receive my Irish passport (after FBR) several weeks ago, but I was dismayed to find that its size is weird: about 125x92mm. The standard passport size is 125x88mm and all other passports I've seen are this size. Was I sent a dud passport or are all Irish passports this size? ...

Retired accountants retain their professional designation and professional status provided they keep up with their membership payments and I see no problem with them acting as your professional referee. Here it suggests that retired professionals don't count: http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewto...

The OP is probably confused because the FAQ on this forum currently states:

Any child born to you before you register is not Irish, any child born to you after you register is Irish and can get Irish passport, by following the same route of foreign birth registration...

In that case, are you eligible for Irish citizenship? If you get an Irish passport, there is no chance that you would be denied entry to the UK or Ireland.

My referee won't put his passport number, also do they have to filled out all the information in that section. Re: How does someone born British prove citizenship?

It's just a curiosity, but how does someone who was born (not naturalised, not registered) British prove his British citizenship? The most obvious way would be to show the British passport, but it is not compulsory to have one. Birth certificates do not report citizenship. Being born in the country...
