The OP mentioned he is now on tier1. He also mentioned that he was made redundant end of September in which case I think he should submit his last 3 payslips, which would take him up to September. I suppose the company documents should show that he is economically active, considering he was employed...

Time spent on a student visa will not count towards the 5 years for ILR based on work permit employment. It would count towards an application based on 10 years continuos Legal stay however. Based on Current Rules you are not eligible for ILR until Sep 2009 (of course you can apply 28 days before th...

You can apply for the British passport as soon as you have your naturalisation certificate in hand. Of course you have to apply for it, it is not sent automatically. You only have to surrender your old passport if the country from which it was obtained does not allow dual nationality (eg. India) You...

The baby does not need to get ILR in order to be registered as a citizen, it does no harm to apply for ILR for the baby anyway, at least it will allow the baby to travel in and out of the uk if you should need to before the receipt of the registration certificate and passport. The registration proce...

Are you allowed to take a copy of your naturalization application or other written information to the interview?, I am just thinking that certain info like your referees address and age are not the kind of info that you would necessarily remember off the top of your head.

shouldn't be a problem, you are not officially British until you attend your ceremony and recieve your certificate as far as I know, my spouse and child's approval letters arrived while we were out of the country, there was absolutely no problems re-entering.

Why not include your son as well? I am assuming your wife has not been in the UK for five years hence the reason she won't be applying yet but children under 18 can be included in the parent's application regardless of length of residence in the UK as far as I am aware.

If you get ILR at the same time as your husband then you will be eligible for naturalisation (as per the current rules) once you have held ILR for one year and have been lawfully present in the UK for the previous five years. You can apply on set(o) for a dependent visa for your child at a PEO that way you will not have to be without your passport.
You will have to make an appointment, call HO at 8.59 am and you should be able to get one for six weeks in the future.

Section 1 (3) as I understand it is for kids born in the UK whose parents subsequently obtain ILR. Were all the kids born in the UK? Any kids who were born outside of the UK can be applied for at the same time you apply for naturalisation but not before.

Well, on Thursday I lost my job (I was made redundant) :( I'm eligible to apply for ILR (under the terms of HSMP JR) in February 2010. So far since February 2009 I earned 29000 pounds (before tax) - do you think this will be enough for ILR? I do hope to find something else until February, but the m...
