Re: Surinder Singh PR refusal appeal results

I've already posted about this several times but no one seems to read my posts! They changed the rules for people on the Surinder Singh route who had a residence card before a certain time - it works for me and I am on the exact same timeline (applying for PR end of August). See following thread: ht...

See the following thread: SS Route and CSI

The guidelines were recently changed so I think this should mean you are okay.

Re: EEA PERMANENT RESIDENCE APPLICATION UNDER SURINDER SINGH

See the following thread: SS Route and CSI

The guidelines were updated recently so as long as you had your RC/applied before a certain date you are okay!
I am in the same situation.

Re: BREXIT WITHDRAWAL AGREEMENT.

How will this affect partners of British citizens in the Surinder Singh route? I am due to apply for permanent residence in August 2018, will I still be able to do so? This is very confusing... My Chinese wife will have completed her 5 years in UK in October 2018, ie, 5 years from our (her) entry i...

Re: SS Route and CSI

Well it appears that the updated Surinder Singh guidelines, with their transitional arrangements, completely fix my problem! Because my RC was issued prior to November 2016 my husband will be considered qualified up until that period - after which he has had a job, so I didn't need to have CSI at a...

Re: Updated 'Surinder Singh' guidance (as of 25 October 2017)

Thank you very much. This is very interesting. It basically waives the CSI requirement and the requirement for the BC to be a qualified person before 25.11.16 if I am reading this correctly? Very good they are putting forward transitional arrangements. Would love to see a detailed legal analysis of ...

Re: Surinder Singh Permanent Residence - New Regulations

Regarding the fact that the regulation 9 amendments 2016 act in contrast to EU law, I did intend to write a cover letter citing case law and EU law but found people who had had their applications denied for doing this. The official reason being they must have used their legal knowledge to circumven...

Re: Surinder Singh Permanent Residence - New Regulations

Hi, Just wanted to ask whether any of the people asking questions on this thread have had decisions made on their PR applications? I am worried now, as I am due to apply for my PR in a year and my husband was a student for some of the time, and I did not have CSI as I didn't know about the qualified...

Re: SS Route and CSI

If the time passes This CSI issue is so ridiculous. The whole time I have been living here I have been working, contributing to the economy, and never claimed benefits or tax credits. They could have at least notified people about this requirement... Tut tut. If you did that nowadays you'd be commi...

Re: SS Route and CSI

Hi Richard, Thanks so much for your response. Unfortunately my husband was a student in 2016, so that doesn't technically excuse us from the new regulations. I just wonder how I was supposed to know about it! As for the centre of life test - we were only in Brussels for 4 months, but we did not move...

SS Route and CSI

Hi all, I haven't written on here for a while but was hoping to get some help with my situation. I am a non EEA family member of a British/Danish national. We lived in Israel together and got married in January 2013. Straight after that we moved to the UK for a few months. Though I didn't quality fo...

Briefly detained at Stansted with UK RC

Hi everyone, Just wanted to post about my first experience on entering the UK with my newly received RC, especially since I have not seen a similar case when searching online. My husband and I flew to Rome for six days. I had no issues entering Rome - stood at EU queue with my husband, showed RC and...

Discrepancies with NI number (Singh EEA2)

Hello all, I am preparing my application for the EEA2, as you may recall my husband worked in Belgium for four months and I was there with him. While filling out the form I realised that as he was employed and paid before he started his local residence card application, his work place organised for ...

From my own experience and reading what other people have written, you would be much safer travelling through Calais than Eurostar. I tried both Calais and Eurostar Brussels without a family permit and Calais was definitely easier, although both did not know the immigration law very well. But that's...

Well, after getting lots of quotes from many companies, the lowest was from Bond St. Translators, 90 quid for 7 documents (5 of which are almost identical and the other two pretty much identical). This is will be translated and certified, simply because certification seems always to be part of it. T...

Update

So here is the update on our entry to the UK through the port of Eurostar in Brussels on 28.8: The UKBA staff at the port didn't know about SS and when I explained one lady said 'well it onky came to light recently right?'. The man took my whole folder of documents (including every type of document ...
