I personally have never heard of a requirement to get things translated. The EEA2 form states very clearly that for all documents not in English one must provide a "reliable" translation. What a tricky definition. Wondering whether to make professional looking translations myself for the documents ...

Hey, thanks for that, but given these uncertainties and the time constraint I already cancelled the appointment. I figure that I might as well just travel without the permit than risk not travelling when I have the ticket. Do you think I should get those documents translated for the RC application, ...

Thanks for that. I think I might cancel the appointment. Just realised it clearly states that you have to have all the documents translated into English and I don't have the payslips or the official documents from the council (which state the address we both lived at) translated. Also I found a stra...

The Belgian bank account statement and the rent contract I thought would be for showing that we were living in Belgium together. Regarding the work contract in the UK - I know it is not necessary but I thought it would support the application. I am worried about being told we didn't enclose some kin...

Yes, your opinion makes a lot of sense. I am so lucky - I decided it might make sense to keep checking in case an earlier appointment pops up, as unlikely as that seemed, and I just managed to reschedule it to 14.8! I think I should make the application in this case as it gives me an extra week. It ...

Nevermind, I think I understand - you thought we should just try and go to the UK one day to test our documents. We don't really have the time to do this at the moments. Here is where things stand: we have booked eurostar tickets for 28.8 afternoon. Now I have to make the decision of whether to appl...

You live relatively close to the ferry to the UK. if you want to, you might consider getting one of those cheap day-return ticket and just drive over for lunch in Kent. It is a good proof of your right to enter the UK. Hi, I don't really understand this statement. Anyhow we cannot drive as my husba...

Regarding the Belgian residence card, here is the link to the specific page on my local commune's website: http://www.etterbeek.irisnet.be/nos-services/etrangers/declarer-votre-depart I am really confused regarding the amount of documents I would need to send. The supporting documents guide mentions...

Hi - I just saw your reply now. My husband used his British passport as we were prepared for the option of moving back to the UK and using the Singh route should he find employment in the UK. I don't think I am still intending to go to the UK before him - I got an appointment for the EEA Family Perm...

Advice regarding Singh route for dual citizen and EEA FP app

Hi dear forum members, I come to seek advice regarding my case. A quick recap: I am an Israeli citizen, married to a dual British Danish citizen. In January I arrived to UK without an EEA family permit (since I was sure I would be rejected because of McCarthy and since we had just gotten married) bu...

Hi everyone, Just wanted some additional advice, if possible. Have been in the UK for almost 3 months now, and have not applied for an RC yet as my husband is looking for work not only in the UK but in Europe as well, so it seemed silly to apply if we end up moving. He has not been very lucky with t...

Update

Well I have some good news! A few days ago I entered the UK through Calais with my husband and I was allowed in on a Code 1A stamp! Here's the story: We drove up in a car with my partner's brother and handed over our passports and marriage certificate. The lady atnthe window said I should have appli...

Well, i am not sure time spent in Israel will break continuity of residence. However i have to err on the side of caution, given the fact i don't know the exact reason for his move to Israel, and the length of time he spent there. In order to do give advice that i will later on regret. I will not d...

Re: Non EEA partner of dual citizen entering UK without EEA2

You may remember me, No, and if you have posted previously with relevant details of your situation, it's always better to continue in that thread. That way people can see your situation and won't post information that has already been imparted. Hi, I found the link to my previous post, here it is :...

I believe you husband falls outside the scope of McCarthy and the UK changes. He has worked in Denmark. You should be fine. The only problem is you are not spouse but boyfriend and girlfriend, which sort of make things complicated, as you are subject to an examination. ' Well we are getting married...

Non EEA partner of dual citizen entering UK without EEA2

Hi, You may remember me, I am the non-EEA partner of a dual British/Danish citizen, who has been badly affected by the July changes to the 2006 regulations. Tomorrow my boyfriend and I are getting married and 3 days later arriving to the UK via Calais. The plan is to stay in the UK and rent an apart...

Hmmm.. how sad. I am in the same situation but have not yet applied.

It almost sounds like, the way it is worded, that if you showed that you had lived and worked in Ireland in the past, like it would be okay?

So confusing.

This is probably not possible, but I am going to ask anyway: What if I entered the UK as a tourist (completely possible being an Israeli and I've done it before) after we got married and then applied for a residence card? I understand this is probably not possible but thought it was worth asking any...

We are going to married in Denmark around Xmas/new year time. We cannot legally marry in Israel as we are of different religions and Israel does not allow such marriages in country. I don't understand your recommendation, the whole issue is that as of 16.7 he apparently cannot use his EEA citizensh...

My partner and I have been living in Israel for almost three years. He has lived in Britain until the age of 11, then moved to Denmark until he was about 21, and since then has been travelling around, spent less than 2 years in the UK since then (is 31 now). If you have been living in Israel for th...

I honestly do not know what matters. You are going to have to explore and see what matters! If you want to be really conservative, you could then convince yourself that it was a long time ago, and that he has not recently working the EU (outside the UK), and that he is British so Eu free movement l...

Where does your partner presently live? Have they ever lived in the UK? Have they ever lived in the other country of their citizenship?
