Re: UK Border Force response to complaint about Landing Card

Landing cards for non-EEA family members of an EEA national are not required. The Immigration Directorate Instructions (Chapter 7, Section 3, Paragraph 5.2.1) state that such persons should not, except for their first entry in this capacity, be required to complete a UK landing card. This aspect of...

Was just talking to Aer Lingus. Because my Wife is not a UK or Irish National, she has to bring her Passport or she cannot board. National ID Cards are only allowed if the person is an UK or Irish National.

Not sure if this rule is just specific to Aer Lingus?

I'm a dual National myself. Basically, if have not applied before the Rule change on 16th July, then you will no longer qualify. My non EU Wife applied for her FP on Friday 13th July, which was granted and issued, and stays on the old Rules for as long as we stay together. For life then hopefully :D...

Thanks for the advice Mr Directive.

So maybe it's best for us to fill in the Landing Card, as it's my Wife's first time in the UK?

If they ask for it it's done, if they don't, then no problem anyway?
