How long have you lived in the UK

This question apparently appears on the SET(M) form. Even though my husband will have actually lived here for 4 years 11 months, allowing for the 28 days before the 5th Anniversary eligibility, do we put that or do we put 5 years, please?

Re: Documents Scanned in Color instead of B&W for ILR

I am using Windows 10 and scanned them in with my Epson Printer/scanner. The scans go into Photos (sometimes! I do have problems at times). In photos you can select groups and then print as PDF. I am sure there is other software for this. I also use a pdf compressor when the file is too big.

Re: UKVCAS Super Priority Service

The super priority service refers to the extra payment you make to the HO when submitting your application. It is supposed to deliver a decision in 24 hours following your biometric appointment at a Sopra Steria Centre. So it does not matter which centre you attend. If you have paid the extra £800, ...

No, but I have seen other posters concerned about this issue. If you put 'child benefit' in the search bar, some similar situations might come up. All the best in sorting this out!

Re: Claimed child benefit for 4 months & ILR application due

It is difficult and I agree you may have to wait for details. I hope they send the information quickly so that, when the time comes to apply, the matter will have been resolved.

Re: Claimed child benefit for 4 months & ILR application due

@zimba : thank you . We jus cancelled it today morning as we read about it last night . We are still waiting for the letter to confirm cancellation to arrive and thereafter pay them back . Do you know how long this process of getting the letter from them takes ? Did you face a similar issue ? @mich...

Re: Claimed child benefit for 4 months & ILR application due

Is one of you a British citizen? If so, you are entitled to Child Benefit as long as you declare that the other is under Immigration Control. It appears from your post, that you are not entitled, so make sure you document everything, ie. write letters rather than calling. You may or may not be able ...

Re: Trial run for SET(M)

It’s not a problem with the solicitor being contacted but I would just worry they might be on leave or out of office when HO has news for us, or request for more information!

Re: Trial run for SET(M)

Thank you for your response. Yes, I would be very careful not to submit before the date of eligibility. The inclusion of the solicitors email making them the first point of contact would bother me but I would think that honesty would make it necessary to include their name if employing one.

Trial run for SET(M)

Hi, as we approach our time to apply for SET(M), I already have questions! I want to do a dummy run with the application form. Can I set up an account, have a look at the questions but ultimately discard it and start a new application? I believe you can edit any answers on the form before submitting...

Re: Documents Scanned in Color instead of B&W for ILR

I agree that, as long as the files are within the 6mb limit, it should not matter if they are in colour. However, having seen the new guidance, my paranoia took over and I rescanned our passports in grey scale, only to find that the file size was the same as the ones I had done in colour!

Re: Documents Uploaded

My nephew had uploaded everything for his wife's FLR(M) but when they attended their appointment, they were told they should have uploaded their daughters' birth certificates. The staff at Sopra Steria were happy to upload them so I don’t think you will have any problem at all with them uploading an...

I can understand applicants who have waited a month or more for a decision having used super priority asking for a refund but for an hour to two!?

Re: Previous passports

If you are using the new system, you can scan your passport(s) and submit the scans and keep your passport. My question is do I have to scan all my husbands expired passports when he applies for SET(M). His go back to 1961! (Windrush times!) So it is going to be a lot of scanning! I was wondering if...

Re: Child Benefit claims in Past and Applying for ILR

That probably explains why you were granted the last two visas....because when the HO checked with HMRC re benefits, there were no current ones listed and they didn’t go back in time to see if you had ever received CB. The chances are that it would be the same for ILR but, seeing as we do not know h...

Re: Child Benefit claims in Past and Applying for ILR

I think your missing whole point, your main condition of visa is not using recourse or public funds. it applies past or present. I feel you better declare and attach letter from HMRC. Be safe I remember, couple of threads on this subject please search on forum. I tend to agree with this. It is bett...

Re: New Appointment Centre UKVCAS

I'm not sure which document you are referring to as "consent letter". Can you give a bit details, please? when you submitted HO online application then before or after payment they said to download consent letter. After that I think you signed that letter and upload on the online system https://vis...
