Re: Settlement Visa question - How long you intend to stay i

We put permanently but qualified it in the area for extra information, saying that it was subject to being issued with further visas. On another forum the advice was to put 33 months as that is the length of the visa. If we get the visa, however, on entering the UK and completing the landing card, w...

Re: Medical Treatment during visit visa

My understanding of the rules is that you cannot enter the UK on a visit visa if you INTEND to receive medical treatment. Your father became ill while visiting, you took him to a doctor and paid for his treatment. I cannot see a problem here.

Re: Visa4UK spouse/settlement app Sign Declaration section

You just type in the name and on the printed copy you sign with a pen. Now, I am not sure if you are applying for someone else, whose name should go there. Hopefully, someone will help with that advice.

Re: MEDICAL CHECK UP AT UK AIRPORT

I think you cannot be sure you will have to have a check up. I read recently of an Indian national who was resident in the US having to go to the Health Centre at Heathrow but when she explained she did not live in India, they allowed her entry without any further check. Some years ago, my husband w...

Re: Quick questions after spouse visa approved

Your wife can leave at any time but the Home Office gives three months to prepare to relocate to the UK. So one month will pose no problem at Immigration. The disadvantage in leaving after more than three months is that she would have to apply for an extension before applying for FLR, causing more s...

Re: SPOUSAL VISA USA HUSBAND UK WIFE

I can only ask some of your questions! Yes, you apply online and, from the US, decisions are usually made quite quickly. You can also apply for priority which will make it even quicker. However, there are requirements under which you can apply, financial, proof of relationship and accommodation. You...

Re: Want to Bring My Mum Parmanently to UK - Pls Advise

I have a friend in a similar situation. She is currently in the UK on a visitors visa but is intending to apply for the adult dependent visa later this year. She is not unwell but has no family here in the Bahamas and friends are gradually leaving. It will be very expensive to have someone to look a...

Re: visa4UK Partner applicaton help!!

I have to agree it is a bit confusing! We have just completed our application process. We also wondered why information on the applicant's employment is included on the online form. You did right to pick 'other relative" as there is no option for wife/husband or spouse. You then qualify it in the ar...

Re: Tuberculosis test in US for UK dependent visa

That is a helpful post Hema. We are applying for a spousal visa but my husband's passport is also from a TB listed country. He has not lived there for over thirty years but it seems he may be asked to visit the health centre at the airport. Good to be prepared. In fact, in 1998 when we entered, he h...

Re: Submitted visa4uk App, concern I've filled Part 3 wrong

Difficult to decide but I am sticking to using applicant's spouse/ partner's details under the section named Family Details. As previously noted, if it is wrong, information can be changed on the print out. My husband is the applicant, I am the spouse so we put my details there and then continued wi...

Re: Submitted visa4uk App, concern I've filled Part 3 wrong

We have filled out part three as the Spouse or Partner (me who is sponsor) details as indicated by the heading at the top of that section. I agree it is confusing but why would they head it like that if the applicant is to include their details there?

Online form for spousal visa

Has anyone here recently applied online for a spousal visa as I have a question regarding the new employment section for the applicant on the online form? It was not included in the VAF4a form on which we practiced our answers. I am still baffled as to why they ask for this as the applicant's employ...

Re: Is online fiance visa application form the same as VAF4A

There is no other way than to choose 'other relative' and in the space for additional information, explain that the sponsor is your wife or husband. Everyone is concerned about this and the general consensus is that that is the way to go. Good luck!

Re: Online Form Filling

Everyone is having a problem with Sponsor's relationship with applicant question. The only option is to choose 'other relative' and in the additional information box, explain that the sponsor is either husband or wife.

Re: Is online fiance visa application form the same as VAF4A

We did ours today and we had already practiced with the VAF 4a paper version. It is basically the same but with some additional information required eg the applicants job and salary details. It is well set out and quite easy to follow but does take time! If you are not physically together when compl...

I was aware of the conditions under which an elderly dependent could remain in the UK. It just seems so cruel to send a really elderly lady back alone when the same money to maintain her over there could be kept in the UK and most likely at a much reduced cost. But we should not be dealing with sent...

I see some people choose 'other' and then explain in the space for additional information that the sponsor is in fact husband or wife. I have seen similar comments on other forums. It seems that the only way to enter the information is to do as you have done, choose 'other relative' and then in the space for extra information put that the sponsor is husband or wife. I am sure the form will be corrected soon.
