Did you hear about their recent review, in which 10 year old applications were found unanswered?! That's insane! I know - unbelievable! You have to wonder though, have the applicants simply given up? Left the country? Got new passports? New identities??? I'd love to know more about their internal p...

Thank you very much Bonita, I just re-read your earlier posts...and I'll ask my questions again - when the lawyer spoke to the UKBA, and they said they had issued the COA, didn't the lawyer tell them then that it was never received? How long ago did they say it was issued? Did the lawyer not reques...

Either can call - I guess the difference being, that the lawyer would charge to make the phone call.

HO says that email requesting passports back should not affect the application timing but from our experience, it did. Well done, glad you got your RC - seems like you've had a very long wait! Not to be negative, but I also requested our passports back (first request 14/11/2012 - received passports...

@Plum - Thanks for your kindness. I hope your RC comes soon and on a separate card! Just my 2 cents...I haven't read of anyone being asked to send their passports back, in order to put the RC sticker in. Everyone seems to get a freestanding ISD (which I was kind of against to begin with - but reali...

It sounds to me like it's some kind of internal measure to help them sort mail quickly. Perhaps a red sticker means an application is older, therefore should be dealt with faster? Or, maybe the different colours relate to different processing teams - again, to allow quick identification of the mail,...

I would recommend to anyone who has waited more than six months to get in touch with their local MP. I contacted my local MP when the UKBA wouldn't respond to my requests to have my passports returned. This kind of escalation process will not only help you in having a decision made on your case, but...

Re: applying for residence card as an unmarried partner

I am an American, currently in the UK on a Tier 4 student visa, living with my boyfriend of 6 years. He is in the UK as a Swiss national (he is a dual Swiss and American citizen - we met while both living in the US). He moved here 3 years ago for a job opportunity. I was a student and working in th...

I've got a question for anyone who has received mail with a coloured label, as I'm quite confused... :? Is the coloured label on the letter you receive (i.e. on the envelope of the mail addressed TO you)? Or, have the UKBA included a return envelope, and this has a colour coded address label? I'm ju...

We both share some financial liabilities and contracts that last for next 12 months, can that also be a supporting point? Hey Charlie101, I'd certainly put my money on the UKBA issuing you with the wrong COA - from what I've been reading on this forum for the past 3 months, the UKBA don't tend to be consistent! I'm not sure of the best way for you to have it re-issued, but would recommend calling them on: 0151 672 5626...
