Re: Tier-2 General - ILR Application Sanity Check

A letter is needed to certify payslip as authentic if it is not printed on company branded paper. My employer uses a generic payslip format.

Thank you both for replying.

As advised, I'll now include payslips, payslip authenticity letters and bank statements to cover last three months.

Re: Took English test for UKVI using resident permit instead of passport

Interestingly, you are required to use BRP as ID if you have one for LIUK. As it seems, consistency is not something HO is concerned about.

I’m applying on the 29th for ILR, in person.

Re: Took English test for UKVI using resident permit instead of passport

I’m in the same boat. Though I’m hopeful this is not going to be a problem. It would be ludicrous if they refuse to accept an ID document that they themselves issued.

Tier-2 General - ILR Application Sanity Check

Hello Everyone, I’m applying for ILR on the 29th of March using same day service. I’m taking a minimalist approach to keep the application as simple as possible. Could someone be kind enough to have a quick look and advise if the documents I’m including are sufficient. I’m not including dependents i...

Re: documents for ILR from tier 2

1. I think any wording along the lines of declaring that your employer is willing to continue your employment indefinitely should be acceptable. 2. You can use your previous IELTS only if it still appears on the list of approved English language qualifications linked below. It is however, unlikely t...

Re: Tax Clearance Checks before applying ILR

As long as the records match your payslips there is nothing to worry about. As for your rental income, it is taxable and must be declared to HMRC. I believe you should do that via self-assessment before the yearly deadline. Admittedly, my knowledge in this area is fairly limited to I'll let others a...

Register at the following URL to view your tax and NI history online.

It is common belief that HO has direct access to HMRC records and they do cross check claims of income against HMRC data.

Re: Length of tier 2 for ILR

A CoS in itself grants no rights whatsoever. It is just a document that indicates your employer’s willingness to employ you and hence the basis for a Tier-2 Visa. A CoS if not used expires in 90 days. Your visa, when issued grants you the right to live and work in the U.K. As your visa was issued on...

It’s not the test centre, the exam itself has to be on approved list. Following is copied from gov.uk Applying to settle in the UK You can use a B1 level qualification that’s run out if both of the following are true: it’s on the current list of recognised tests it was accepted for another UK immigr...

Previously accepted qualifications will only be accepted if they are still on the list of approved exams. You’ll need to take a B1 SELT exam.

Re: Driving Offences, National Identity Card, "Doctor" Title

1. A Parking Charge Notice is nothing but an invoice. Parking companies usually mark them, rather deceptively in my opinion, with "PCN" in big letters to confuse and scare you. No need to mention those. 2. No harm in sending it. I would if it was asked for at any stage in the application. 3. Not sur...

You should enter your income from primary employment.

Self employment is not permitted under Tier-2 so you might be in trouble if you've been working for yourself.

Tier-2 ILR Absence Letter

Hi, I'm applying for ILR next month. My understanding was, the employer letter needs to include absences from the UK and that no evidence is needed for holidays taken within the UK. Until I read UKBA's answer to the following question: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/clarification_on_new_ilr_...

Re: ILR Refused based on IR Paragraph 245HF

You've been incorrectly advised that your qualifying period started from the date your CoS was issued. Your qualifying period starts from the date your Tier-2 entry clearance is issued. You applied too early and HO's decision to refuse your application was legally correct, therefore, there's no chan...

Re: English language requirement for ILR (UK)

I sat IELTS General Training and was awarded an overall score of 8.5 back in 2012. The trouble is, whilst our certificates do satisfy the current English level requirement, they were removed from the list of acceptable tests in Nov 2015. The only tests that are acceptable now are the ones having SEL...

Re: Tier 2 General to ILR

Your salary must be at least £35000 (£35500 from 6th of April) or equal to the rate specified in relevant SOC code, whichever is higher.

My understanding is, you'll have to be paid at least £39K to qualify if that's the amount for your SOC code.
