Re: What are the available options?

Polygamy is illegal, it's up to the parties to ensure they are both free to marry, no excuses here, no issue. Hi Wanderer, Thanks for your response. I believe this to be a case of polyandry, because it's the woman that has been adjudged to have an existing marriage, hence renders any other impendin...

What are the available options?

Hi Guys, I sincerely apologise if there's already an existing post I should've used for this query. The matter at hand involves a close friend. He entered the UK in 2002 and overstayed his visa. He married an EU national in 2008, but the his application for a stay was rejected by HO on the grounds t...

Re: Convention Travel Documents application time experience

CTD was applied for on 10/01/2014, confirmation letter received about a week later. The CTD was received on 8/03/2014, but they didn't return the supporting documents sent off with the application. The supporting document was the original status letter sent by the HO. Is this normal or do you think ...

Re: I Was Served With A Removal Notice. Help ?

Hi, What I outlined roughly in my previous message is the process you might go through if you have been given the right to appeal. (If I'm correct) you were not given the right to appeal so the process might not apply to you. You were only given an option to complain to an ombudsman. An Ombudsman's ...

Re: I Was Served With A Removal Notice. Help ?

Hi, I must say, you have provided very vague information about your situation so it will be difficult giving proper advise (if any). As far as Tribunals and appeals go, it depends on where in the UK you are applying from. Usually the South East has more applications so hearing dates are sometimes 6 ...

Hi guys, I'm seeking advise for a mate who has just been granted leave to remain as refugee. He received his BRP today. My questions are: 1. How old is he and how long exactly has he lived in the UK? He is 36 now, and came into UK in 1998, but he only has proof of being in the UK via council tax bills going back to 2007. Sometimes the Ombudsman appear useless because their powers are so constrained and bizarrely, their caseworkers are not legally trained. He still should have applied for SET(O) as he stood no chance on SET(M). Evidence only needs to be on the balance of probabilities, so a witness statement by peop...
