For 14 years residence rule you do not have to be legal ..

Add to that time difference between UK and all other countries in the east :D Uk airports open almost 24hrs - get you visa at 12 IST, this must be 17-30 GMT if I am correct, you should still have 6.5 hrs to get to the UK :) But this is extreme, I agree. This is because of the interpretation of the period Feb-Apr '06 when I returned home to apply for HSMP (even though my WP was for 4 years from Jan '05). Would this be treated as a break or a continuation? what visa did you have stamped, entry clearance or FLR ? but frankly this looks like you reset...
