That's what I thought, but thought it would be good to double-check.

Thanks

Thanks for the hint ;-)

As I said, I would like to hear from someone with personal experience. I find it very hard to believe that nobody on this forums has had a similar experience. Anyone?

Thanks for the reply and pointers. I myself could not find any indication that a minor speeding offence could have any bearing on either ILR or naturalisation proceedings. However, I would like someone to confirm this. Also, does it make any difference if the penalty is imposed through the fixed pen...

Sorry, should have provided more details.

The alleged offence is excess speed (60mph in a 40mph zone on a motorway). I understand that, if found guilty, the penalty is likely to be along the lines of three points + fine.

Thanks for any insights you can provide.

Quick question

Can a speeding offence have any negative impact on one's ILR or (later on) naturatisation application?

Thanks for the pointer. I would be inclined to agree that having a permanent full-time job at the time of ILR application would make for a stronger case. However, let's just assume for a moment that the applicant (who is an HSMP holder) is between jobs when applying for ILR. What exactly would they ...

ILR requirements for HSMP holders

I am an HSMP holder and will soon be applying for ILR. However, I am considering leaving my current employer, and may do so before submitting my ILR application. Therefore, it might happen that, when applying for ILR, 1) I will be serving my notice period; or 2) will have served my notice and will b...

Thanks for the reply, try-one. That's my understanding too, but I thought I'd check with the omniscient board just to be sure :)

Does anyone have a different opinion on the ILR matter?

ILR and dependants

I will shortly be applying for ILR (4 years of work permit employment/HSMP). Now, are there any residency requirements for any of my dependants to get ILR at same time as me? For example, would it matter if my wife didn't spend the whole of 4 years in the UK, or spent some of it in a different categ...

Similar story here: posted extension application on 26th of July, it was received by HSMP team on the 27th. Haven't heard from them since (not even sure I got a confirmation letter). The case is also incredibly straightforward (I've been in full time employment throughout the 12 months, decent incom...

This sounds like a plausible explanation.

<rant>
However, I do think that taking two weeks to process one day's worth of applications is unacceptable. Particularly now that we have to pay to cover the cost of the service (and then some).

Extremely slow processing of post 15-July extensions

The processing speed of HSMP extensions (submitted after 15 July 2004) seems to have dropped massively in the recent weeks. According to http://www.workingintheuk.gov.uk/working_in_the_uk/en/homepage/news/announcements/operational_service.html Two weeks ago: Currently working on cases received 27 Ju...
