Re: Referee with criminal conviction

I am not a lawyer, keep that in mind. I am interpreting it in it's plain meaning.

I think it means that the offence that you were convicted of can or does carry a prison sentence is enough, even if you don't actually serve time for it.

Re: Referee with criminal conviction

It is explicitly stated in both the Form AN guidance and the Form MN1 guidance in identical language. We will not usually accept a referee who has been convicted of an imprisonable offence during the last 10 years The absence of the table may just mean that the two guidances have been updated, but t...

If yes, you can directly apply naturalization for your children, bypassing the ILR process.

Re: Naturalise for non uk born under section 3 for Home Secretary consideration

Because this situation is caused by a recent change to the Indian government's interpretation of Indian law, it is a known unknown. It is worth noting that stateless children born in the UK and stateless adults living in the UK can register or naturalise only after at least five years of residence i...

Re: Is a child of a British (by naturalization) citizen a British citizen?

If the child is born on or after the date of naturalisation, then yes, the child will automatically be a British citizen by descent if born outside the UK. But the child will not be able to automatically pass on British citizenship to their own children if those children (your grandchildren) are bor...

Children born abroad follow the same immigration status as the second parent and can apply for ILR along with the second parent, regardless of whether the child themselves have completed five years residence or not.

To build on contorted_svy 's answer above, you can travel while the application is in progress. If you get a successful response, you need to contact the local council within 21 days and attend the naturalisation ceremony in the UK within 90 days. After that, there are many actions that you will nee...

Re: Can I travel before I get my UK passport

I don’t know if the situation is different to the OP as SA nationals need a visa to travel to the UK. It is. A non-visa-national can get onto a flight and get to the UK border to make her arguments to a UK border official. A visa national will not be allowed to get onto a flight to the UK by the ai...

Please expand on your answer "ILR generally requires five continuous years." In which situation can the five years be separate then ? Some immigration routes, such as Global Talent or Innovator or Start-up, allow for ILR in less than five years if specific conditions are met. Therefore I generalise...

Re: Heard, that with the EU ppassport it will be easier to get a job in the EU

Heard, that with the EU ppassport it will be easier to get a job in the EU. That is correct. But the EU itself does not issue the passports. An "EU passport" is a passport issued by a Member-State of the EU . If you hold the passport of any EU Member-State, or even of any EEA Member-State (EU+Norwa...

Re: Child born in the UK and applying Citizenship.

The child will have an entitlement to register as a British citizen when either one parent gets ILR, because they were born in the UK. Their UK immigration status does not matter.

So your child can be registered as a British citizen regardless of whether their BRP has expired or not.

He, a single unemployed male with little or no strong connection to his home country, is highly unlikely to get a visit visa. He should be prepared for a refusal.

I had not come across a statelessness application on these forums before, so I had to research. It is possible that you could apply to stay in the UK as a stateless person , after arriving in the UK (i.e. you can't apply from abroad). And this application seems to be very advantageous. It is a five ...
