My little brother...is 27 years old and still studying art at a university. He lives with his parents.
He, a single unemployed male with little or no strong connection to his home country, is highly unlikely to get a visit visa. He should be prepared for a refusal.

At the same time, what prevents the OP applying for an indian visa based on his indian spouse, as he has already done? The OP needs to meet both the eligibility requirements listed The OP has multiple ways to apply for Indian residency , perhaps through OCI (Overseas Citizenship of India, essential...

Re: British overseas citizen how to get ROA,ILR or full citizenship

I had not come across a statelessness application on these forums before, so I had to research. It is possible that you could apply to stay in the UK as a stateless person , after arriving in the UK (i.e. you can't apply from abroad). And this application seems to be very advantageous. It is a five ...

do i need to pay IHS health surcharge if i apply visit visa for my parents about a year or more than year about 2 , 5 or 10 years ? No, because no single trip on those visas should exceed six months in the UK. A 2, 5 or 10 year visit visa essentially makes the holder the equivalent of a non-visa-na...

Re: ex wife threatining to contact HO & revoke BP

Your ex can make as many allegations as she wants on the assumption she wants to implicate herself too. To expand further on that, at least under the EEA Regulations, a "marriage of convenience" requires both parties to have been aware that it was purely for immigration purposes and not a real subs...

A child born abroad is eligible for registration under discretion when either (a) both the child and one parent has ILR AND the other parent is a British citizen, or, (b) the child has lived for ten continuous years in the UK and is still under the age of 18. As CR001 has mentioned, your child is no...

You should definitely check with your local council about your mobility issues and chronic illnesses. They may be able to make appropriate adjustments, such as making sure that the venue is accessible to those with your specific mobility issue, etc. But, to the best of my knowledge, there is current...

Re: British overseas citizen how to get ROA,ILR or full citizenship

I would say that, right now, you are in a considerable amount of what the French would call "la merde". Mostly of your own making. Right now, you have no right to reside or work in either the UK or India. I think, at the very least, since you are still in India, you should look at applying for OCI (...

Re: British overseas citizen how to get ROA,ILR or full citizenship

Being a British Overseas Citizen may not give you any advantage over being an Indian citizen when it comes to moving to the UK. A BOC is subject to the same restrictions on living in the UK that an Indian citizen would be. When and where were you born? When did you apply for and when did you receive...

If a person is not born a British citizen, the only way to become a British citizen is by registration or naturalisation (adults only). There is no automatic acquisition of British citizenship at any time after birth. 2. If my daughter need to apply for Naturalisation, can she apply at the same time...

Along with the request to remove the observation, I think you may have to state your reasons for the change. What arguments would you make for that request?

Is your Russian passport in a different name? Have you, for instance, taken out the patronymic from the name in the British passport?

Re: Child Born Uk - Not sure we can apply for British passport directly

A court can't/doesn't grant ILR. It may direct the HO to reconsider its decision or to grant ILR, but unless there is anything specific in the judgement, ILR is only prospective and only from the day that it is granted by the Home Office. Your child will need to be registered as a British citizen on...

Re: British by double descent

This is not true that "double descent" is rare or restricted to a few countries. The 1948 BNA allowed for what people call "double descent" in section 5, and now because of the 2022 changes to the 1981 BNA (section 4L), a lot of people are now eligible to register for it based on having a British g...

A passport is required to board an international flight or transport (ships). Only domestic flights (and intra-Schengen/intra-CTA flights/ferries are considered domestic for these purposes) do not require passports.

As a dual national I think he can hold both passports until he reaches 18. I think it is more nuanced than that. You say your passport shows you as "British" - you mean "British otherwise than by decent" ? If so I believe your child is British by decent and entitled to a passport. If it says "British by decent" then your child won't be British. British passports for British citizens only state their status as...

British passport applications for British citizen children born on the Subcontinent are known to take between six months and a year.

So I wouldn't be too surprised with an MN1 application taking as long at least.
