You need 18,600pa....Savings can be counted to reduce this but unfortunately the first £16k of saving are disregarded so we'd to know the exact amount.. In order to make up the difference of about £1000 between the job offer and the Minimum Income Requirement, you would need savings of (difference*...

Re: Questions about the 85 page PR app

Straight to the point tho, the application is 85 pages long, and not taking into account the extra documents we need to send it's kind of baffling that HO wants a novella per applicant. I'm a non-EEA migrant and when I submitted by first extension application (a concept alien to the EEA Route), the...

Point them to Article 5(3) The host Member State shall not place an entry or exit stamp in the passport of family members who are not nationals of a Member State provided that they present the residence card provided for in Article 10. Not sure if later marriage would retrospectively confer nationality on offspring born before marriage, but your colleague should register as a British citizen using Form UKF. The fee for form UKF is £80, jut the fee for attending the citizenship ceremony.

That is the general rule for amendments to statutory instruments. The Immigration Rules, including fees, are statutory instruments and hence can be changed at any time, provided the changes are published 40 days in advance of them coming into force.

Re: Unmarried non EU-family member travel issues

Be aware that unmarried non-EEA durable partners do not have the same rights as non-EEA spouses. For non-EEA durable partners, the EEA Country that you are visiting can choose to examine whether you meet their definition of "durable partner". They are only required to "facilitate" the visiting of no...

Re: Child Registration - Dependent visa

Children born outside the UK are expected to be free of immigration control (Page 16 of the Guide MN1 that I linked to above). In other words, ILR before registration. Having said that, there has been a recent success on these forums of a child without ILR being registered because the rest of his fa...

Highly recommended. Ideally done with mother's ILR application.

Re: Child born in U.K.

If you apply for British passport, the child will automatically lose the Indian citizenship and will become solely British.

If you want the child to remain a dual British and Indian citizen, apply for an Indian passport and then apply for a CoE-RoA in the Indian passport.

Re: Carer (Carer's allowance) - weak case EEA PR?

In that case, you do not have any legal residence in the UK. If it makes you feel better, you are lawfully present. I would encourage you to get a private health insurance policy to cover you and all non-UK members of the family and then immediately apply for an EEA(QP) document for all EEA family m...

Re: Advice on Good character requirement required

It won't show up in the SAR. It will need to be disclosed when you are applying for citizenship, because you will need to disclose your immigration history. As they will have that on their system, once it is put cogently in a timeline, they will see that you overstayed between the end of your workin...

No idea what a lakh is; conversion required. Assuming Indian rupee, rough rule of thumb; for each "lakh", read one thousand pounds sterling. It is a very rough and ready conversion and very imprecise, but handy for mental calculations. To the OP (and to others posting here): the Indian numbering sy...

Re: Parents travel on visitor visa - request input

The date of application does not matter. You can, in theory, apply today. What does matter is convincing the ECO that your parents are visiting and not residing and that they will leave the UK when they said they would. The facts that (a) they have just recently spent five months in the UK, (b) that...

Start here.

Your friend can only sponsor one wife as spouse in the UK. Any other wives will have to apply on their own steam; essentially as single applicants under Tier 2 or 4 or 5.

Re: Carer (Carer's allowance) - weak case EEA PR?

I do not need health insurance in my country, why do I need here? NHS is OK and it's same in my country free. I don't see why I must pay for insurance if it's free in my country? Mere presence in an EEA country does not amount to residence. The requirements for residence in another EEA country are ...

Re: surinda singh route ireland

Be aware that the UK government has tightened the regulation on the Surinder Singh route and expressly states that it does not apply if it is used to get around the UK Immigration Rules. So, if the wife's immigration applications have been rejected twice, the SS route may not do much good either.
