Re: October Appliants

Any October applicant that has received acknowledgement or got the fees debited please respond. My application got to the homeoffice on 10 Oct 2013 and I still haven't received anything nor my account has been debited. Mine will have got there on the 9th October, and I have not heard anything or ha...

I can't see anyone's card being charged since 24th getting bit worried now. I don't even know if mine got delivered or not as my NCS didn't provide me any reference numbers. My NCS office used DX Secure delivery. I didn't bother to get a reference number, although I could do. The chances that it di...

We applied on 8th at NCS, still no fee. As you say, they are swamped with applications.

They are obviously very busy with the rush to beat the 28th October deadline. I'd wait a few more days.

There were loads of reports of cards been charged on 22nd but none since then. Whats happening  I guess it is the time for folks to check with their banks if the payments are in process, if applied on or after 9th payments should have been taken by now... Our appointment was on 8th, would ha...

We will have to wait and see - my own view is that they have been so swamped in October, it could take several months for them to clear the backlog.

I have never seen a Home Office Reference on any correspondence either, always just a Case ID. So I've left it blank.

Do you know if the date of nationality checking service appointment is considered as the application date for naturalisation? How does it work?
No, I think it is the date of receipt by the Home Office, which should be the next working day.

One of my referees said he had never been contacted, and has acted as refereee a number of times. My guess is that they do random checks, plus there are probably specific circumstances that trigger an automatic check. The huge influx should not alter their approach, but if anything they may be a lit...

I applied at NCS Barnet at the Brent Civic Centre earlier this month. It was sent via Secure DX to UKBA in Liverpool. The employee there said the bag is filled with all applications from that day and sent out in afternoon around 4.30pm I was a bit surprised as all other NCS posters mentioned Royal ...

Nope. They are just forwarding service. Sometimes they don't even read your application and carefully check it. They were also confused whether to use new or old form. That checklist is for them to check certain parts especially obvious ones and be on safe side and not send any application they may...

That is a trap !! I don't see that instruction anywhere.

One of my referees is the same date, and the other is after. Should be OK then.

My local NCS office says they use DX Secure post, not Royal Mail. So some difference there too between NCS offices.

i am sending it myself, can i use december 2012 form AN ?? I don't think anyone knows the answer to this question definitively. If an NCS office accepts the old form, the chances are virtually NIL that the Home Office will then reject it. If you simply post it yourself, theoretically it should be t...

Anyone knows when last updated AN form (SEP 2013). I filled the old form (AN DEC 2012). I was planning to post it tomorrow when I realised there is a new form published. My issue is it is very hard to get one of my referee to sign again. Normally their allow 2 to 3 weeks b4 end on previous form. I ...

Local NCS accepted the old form today, no problems at all.

One surprise though - even though I ticked "met the knowledge of language and life requirement to qualify for settlement" they insisted I had to supply the necessary certificates again, which fortunately I had on me.

We provided the foreign language original marriage certificate, and a certified translation. The Home office accepted these for the spouse visa and ILR, and we need to provide again for the citizenship application.
