Wanderer, I wondered, the same as you, that they are trying to discourage spouse, and other related visas. Having read more I don't think it is. I think it is more simply these applicants have no alternative. No competition = high prices to subsidise those where there is. That was the brief from the...

Having read the 'Response to the Consultation' does anyone else feel that it is flawed? The questions seem bias towards business, students and tourists and those engaged in the consultation process seem to represent tourists, students or the business sectors? It would appear just one respondant was ...

You need to demonstrate that you and your spouse have a place to live, that wont be overcrowded. Read the full notes on getting a spouse visa about other things you need to prove. There is no list of what you need to provide to demonstrate this but do not 'skimp' on evidence as all too often applica...

From my own experience, and that of many others on this forum, your best, and possibly only option, is to leave and apply for a visa in a country you are are legally resident in. He certainly doesn't need to worry about it if the application is genuine. Questions will all be things he should already know and are evident from the application; providing he knows what is in the application he will be fine. Questions that came up in my wifes interview were the names of my family...

Simple answer is no, and it is unlikely that you wil be able to until you have a visa. There is nothing stopping you being prepared such as sending your CV to agencies/potential employers though as you can work in the UK as soon as you have the visa. The important part is that 'together you can supp...

SunnyDayz, I do not believe the truth will keep you apart. Nothing in the rules for a spouse visa means the ECO can reject the application on those grounds. As has been said many times though, do make sure your application is well prepared and gives them no option for them but to grant the visa ther...

You have £11,000 savings but a history of being overdrawn at the bank? This either means you don't have savings or are not very good at managing money, possibly both. The application asks for a passport photo of just the applicant. We put in a passport photo of me just because we had one.

Completely forgot, but having mentioned it Marie B, I now realise mine was kept by the ECO. Would certainly recommend being prepared and having passport photos of each of you.
