Re: New EU deal: Free-movement rights gone?

Calmed down, no we are ok, we have to prove relationship is over two years so we were "married" before I established myself in BG. Its all speculation of course till we read the final wording and then we could vote to come out so the proposal becomes toilet paper, but its interesting to gain insight...

Re: New EU deal: Free-movement rights gone?

Argh my head hurts now Richard lol.
I've already established myself in Bulgaria and my "spouse" is looking to get a long term visa as Family member to join me. So it seems my goose is cooked, bugger.

Re: New EU deal: Free-movement rights gone?

It's a complete can of worms. If a marriage before the non-EU partner comes to the EEA disqualifies, and de facto relationships count as marriages, ECOs will want to establish that there was a de facto relationship before they came to the EEA! That nice and clearly explained Richard, thank you. So,...

Re: New EU deal: Free-movement rights gone?

This is all still presuming married couples, how does it affect DR couples? Or gays, consider this hypothetical one. A gay EU citizen establishes himself in Bulgaria and wants his Asian partner to join him. Bulgaria does not recognise registered partnerships so they will issue a visa type D as a fam...

Re: New EU deal: Free-movement rights gone?

Does anyone think that bit might have been stuck in because the home office got beat by the Mc Carthy case? or the OB ruling? bit of bitchyness from the home office? OK it looks nasty for the good people trying to get their loved ones with them using EU rules, maybe if the financial requirement thin...

Re: An appeal happening on the 22nd

The financial requirement is just plain wrong. How can it be right to say you have to have ex amount of money of you can't be with your family perhaps for the rest of your life. That's the whole point of the appeal isn't it? Whether a family has a right to enjoy a normal family life, or am I missing...

Re: An appeal happening on the 22nd

All I said was I don't mind a diversion in the thread not that I particularly wanted it. As for bumping threads its a commonly used tool in forums although I was not orchestrating it. As for my opinion of judges I'll just say my family have been victim to miscarriages of justice on several occasions...

Re: An appeal happening on the 22nd

Ahh, again you see the interests of an individual (you) wanting to see the thread get higher visibility by being bumped up by newer posts, being balanced by the interests of the forum

Seems to indicate that I am orchestrating other peoples post for my own ego.

Re: An appeal happening on the 22nd

Thanks for that noajthan but its a bit too techno for my old brain.

Back on topic I wonder if any on here are going to the court to watch the proceedings, I'd like to but incapacity prevents it. The info has been posted in several places on the interweb so I hope at least some can make it.

Re: An appeal happening on the 22nd

As the OP I'm not complaining about diversion of the thread, all the time you keep post it gets bumped to the top of the list and others might read my OP. The thread is redundant after 22nd anyway, its a pity I cant see a way to delete it then. As for computer systems my first foray was an IBM with ...

Re: An appeal happening on the 22nd

I originally thought the purpose of this thread was to encourage people to turn up in person to watch proceedings or else the website may go down accidentally. Re-reading it, it could be construed as an incitement to commit a crime and I hope that the OP is not attempting to incite one. I, for one,...

Re: An appeal happening on the 22nd

My opinion for what it's worth. I thought the 'adequate maintenance' was fairer for all. The differential between wages in London/South East and the cost of living against other parts of the UK is significant. Couples who live rent-free with family will have more disposable income than those earnin...

Re: An appeal happening on the 22nd

Simon I think that's what they are currently basing there level on, how much till you fall off the ceiling for benefits, including housing, council tax, child tax credit etc. I's not fair because some live a frugal life and don't draw all those benefit and housing benefit or cost of living is going ...

Sorry Casa, I don't know how my bit of text got stuck in there, please read my tag line lol.
But to avoid confusion I want people to know my previous post is a corruption of Casa's previous post and should not reflect on her views.

Re: An appeal happening on the 22nd

Of course Casa you are probably right, I doubt if any slow down of their network would even be informed to the court anyway, but who knows stranger things have happened. I think it might be an education to some just to see how the court operates, maybe seeing that would help them if they have to go ...

Re: Non-EEA spouses excluded from EEA-route under EU-UK deal

Sorry, now 've also deviated from the OP.

All I was going to say was the proposal does not cater for DR neither does it cater for Registered Partnership couples. All it says is must be married before going to host country.

Yes well we cant be living together for a minimum of two years. I'm stuck here she's stuck there. Mabuhay! As an aside, have you looked into annulment as an option? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/from_our_own_correspondent/9509519.stm http://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2015/06/...
