Re: Reconsideration

s77maj wrote:Does anyone have an idea how long reconsideration for naturalization normally takes.
Necessary documents for reconsideration was received by HO on 18th Sept
Fees was deducted 1st Oct (£80)
I heard of a case that took 10 weeks and it was granted, but it was a pretty obvious mistake

I think its more to do with security checks. Its a well known secret that some nationalities do face more checks. Also, similarity in name or other details with someone on the watch list might trigger more checks. I guess it makes sense; you don't want to naturalise a terrorist, criminal, etc... Fa...

Re: price for Naturalisation.

Can anyone confirm how much to pay for naturalisation i.e. Form AN. Is it £874 alone; or do you have to add an extra £80 for the ceremony fee? Thank you. unless, they have increased the price since July, it was £874 and that includes the ceremony; anyway, whatever the price is on the website, it in...

Still waiting from 25th of June 2013. For some applications they are taking long. It probably a matter of luck whether you get a quick case worker or a slow less efficient one. I agree with you Sahib. We applied on a same date as some guy who had lots of unpaid bills, parking tickets, debt collecti...

How they measure complexity. I believe my application is a straight forward as I meet all the requirements. I do have got couple of parking tickets in the last year which I paid the fine on time . I have seen some getting approvals in 10 days with many fpns. I think it more down to the individual c...

Interview went well, very relaxed casual chat... they do ask funny questions...so it may seem to us but they cannot be fooled.. Get it done... Yeah, I don't mind the questions, better than having my identity stolen; I just think that taking people's finger prints would be more effective, but other ...

Congrats Derivaz, good to know no mistakes. You can wait until January for your passport as it does not make any difference to you, but then I would say just get it done now itself while you are in the citizenship spirit, also then you can tuck away the citizenship certificate safely. It just takes...

Very true Ayyubi, it even costs more. Derivaz, good luck for your ceremony. I got my certificate today; it looks correct; it was the surname and then the name (spelt right) and the council told me that's the normal format; so it looks like it's over. I asked about the passport and they told me to a...

... How can it be faster? They do nothing apart from putting everything in a plastic envelope and send it to HMPO. Most PO's wait 2-3 days so they have a few applications together to send. It is safer, cheaper and quicker sending the application by special delivery straight to HMPO. That's what I t...

If your application is straightforward, then there is no point paying £ 500. Naturalisation is the very easy application to make. NCS does not approve the application, they just check you meeet statutory requirement. If you can read and write english, you can fill up the form yourselves. Ask on the...

For first passport after naturalisation the only documents that are required are uncancelled passport and naturalisation certificate. Apart from this, they cannot b...
