I am actually in a similar boat. My salary has been at the minimum threshold required for my PhD level job since I extended my Tier 2 visa. Now, however, the threshold has gone up by £1000 and so my salary needs to be increased by that amount just before I apply for my ILR. Would explaining the sit...

I am on my second Tier 2 visa at the moment and have to apply for ILR. When I applied for my Tier 2 extension my employer had to increase my salary to the minimum level required for an experienced candidate, which for my PhD level job was £27,000 at the time, according to the codes of practice. My q...
Hi all I am currently on a Tier 2 (general) visa and will be applying for ILR in a few months. I apologise if this has been asked before but I wanted to check in any case. While I know that you need to provide bank statements with your application, do you have to show any particular amount as a main...
Thank you for your reply! Its a relief to know you got it within a week. Yeah I called VFS and they said that a copy of my husband's passport will do if I don't have the original. I understand that you can renew even after your passport expires, however, you need to have at least 6 months valid on y...
As far as I know, most countries where you have to apply for a visa have this rule, for some the validity requirement might even be longer. You could try going to a country where you could get a visa on arrival, for example, Turkey has visa on-arrival for Indians who reside in the UK. Though you may...
1. I put in my UK address as "other address" as it also asked for a phone number (which the maina ddress didn't). 2. As I don't have any relatives or family in the UK, I put my husband's name who's in the US. 3. Yes, that's what "local" means :) 4. I'm sure they can be, again, someone might not have...
Anyone? A couple more questions- I need to get my husband's name added to my passport as well but he's in the US and so I don't have his original passport. Will self-attested copies be enough? Also, the VFS website states that the applicants need to take silver envelopes, can I take normal jiffy bag...
Hi guys My passport is expiring in March 2018 and I want to renew it now. The Indian High Commission seems to be open on August bank holiday so I thought I would make an appointment for then, saving me a day off work. The only thing is that I have to go to India on 30th September so was wondering ho...
KPSP- Was that after police verification? Where did you get it renewed? Everywhere I've read says it takes at least 3 working days for them to dispatch!
I have friends who bought a house (on mortgage) while they were on Tier 2 General. Now they are British citizens (after spending one year on ILR). I don't see why buying a house would be an issue!
1. Category applying under : Tier 2 Dependent (General, Partner) 2. Country of application: USA 3. City of Visa Application Centre: Biometrics in Atlanta, consulate in New York 4. Date of application: 08/04/2017 5. Date of submission of documents (if different from 4 above). : 21/04/2017 6. Date Ent...
The job start date needs to be within 3 months of the CoS issue date, so October might be too far away for it right now. Also, CoS validity is 3 months, so the earliest you can get a CoS to have a job start date of October 1st would be July 2nd.
CR001- I thought tenancy agreement wasn't a required document for a Tier 2 Dependent visa (assuming that's what the OP is applying for his wife, and not Tier 2 general as the topic states) unless children are involved?
As you won't be getting another CoS for ILR, it sounds like you don't need to be paid £30,000 and can get away with your current salary. ILR would be the only case the "CoS before 24th November 2016" rule would be valid probably because a person can't apply for a Tier 2 visa (new or extension) with ...
I am so sorry for your situation, I do know what its like to have to prove you are fluent in English even though you have been taught in English your whole life. It seems as your PhD wasn't completed in a native English-speaking country, you didn't meet the English language requirements. You could g...
Even for £300 per year? As the minimum threshold for Tier 2 General is £30,000 (or according to appendix J, whichever is higher), its highly likely that the threshold for ILR won't be for the lower amount in appendix J. There's a website where you can post questions to UKVI (freedom of information o...
Its quite straightforward scher, just make sure you have a scanned copy of your passport/BRP/driving license to prove identity, and also a soft copy of your bank statements/utility bills/council tax bill/other documents listed on the page to prove your new address. They say say update the address wi...
In that case it will have to be 30,000. They do make it as confusing as possible, don't they!
You're not that much off this figure, you could probably negotiate with your employer to bring it up a little!
