I am so sorry for your situation, I do know what its like to have to prove you are fluent in English even though you have been taught in English your whole life. It seems as your PhD wasn't completed in a native English-speaking country, you didn't meet the English language requirements. You could g...
Even for £300 per year? As the minimum threshold for Tier 2 General is £30,000 (or according to appendix J, whichever is higher), its highly likely that the threshold for ILR won't be for the lower amount in appendix J. There's a website where you can post questions to UKVI (freedom of information o...
Its quite straightforward scher, just make sure you have a scanned copy of your passport/BRP/driving license to prove identity, and also a soft copy of your bank statements/utility bills/council tax bill/other documents listed on the page to prove your new address. They say say update the address wi...
In that case it will have to be 30,000. They do make it as confusing as possible, don't they!
You're not that much off this figure, you could probably negotiate with your employer to bring it up a little!
Hi I am currently on tier 2 general visa and about to apply for my ILR on May 20. I have a query in regards to the salary threshold . Hope one of you can help me. I fall under PHD Exemption category and my SOC CODE is 2119 (Scientific Officer) , the minimum salary threshold for experienced worker i...
If you are only extending your Tier 2 visa, you don't need to show bank statements/proof of maintenance.
All you need is the printed application, checklist, passport, 2 photos with your name written on the back and your current BRP.
Hi guys I know this has been asked and answered time and again, but my husband is applying for his Tier 2 Dependent visa from the USA where he's working, but he is an Indian national. I wanted to confirm the documents we need to send (last minute panic to double check everything!). So far he's got: ...
Hi guys My husband is applying for a Tier 2 Dependent visa from the US (he's an Indian national). In the question asking for his residential address, we provided his US address. Then there was another question about how long he has lived there and if his contact address is different from this addres...
You could ask your employer to add sponsor notes in these sections mentioning the error and what it really should be. My boss entered the wrong number of working hours for me the first time and then next time during the extension he put in the wrong salary. Sponsor notes worked both times.
Hi guys My husband is currently filling the application on the visa4uk website for a Tier 2 Dependent visa from the US. However, there is no place for him to put in the IHS reference number anywhere. Does anyone know where this goes? Shall we print out the payment confirmation page/email and attach ...
Hi guys So I have just been to India with my partner and got the formalities of a court marriage done so he could apply for a dependent visa for the UK. I live as a lodger currently, and though I did sign a paper which mentions the details of the tenancy like the rent and the rules etc, it was just ...
This is all fine, and having a dependant visa rather than a visitor visa (even if the dependant is currently working abroad) has several benefits. (easier to get a job, NHS access etc.). Furthermore, you can extend the visa, without any issue. The extension part is what I was concerned about. But h...
Thank you for your reply. I agree with you, its a very expensive visa and not feasible to be used for visits. But in my case (or my future husband's), we want to apply for his dependent visa to make it easier for him to get a job in the UK, while he carries on working in the US. We don't want him to...
And that is because of not being in the UK for at least 180 days right? I understand it would affect ILR, but would there be a way around extending PBS dependent leave? Making a fresh application perhaps? If the main applicant switches to ILR then maybe they can apply as dependents of a settled pers...
I wanted to ask if a person gets a Tier 2 Dependent visa, are there any rules stopping them from working in another country (the US, for example)? If not, would there be any problems if this person comes to visit their spouse in the UK, as they haven't really been resident in the UK on their depende...
Which visa are you currently on? The new entrant thresholds apply to: Graduates switching into Tier 2 (General) within the UK from the student route or Tier 1 (Post-Study Work); Graduate recruits where you have used a university “milkround” to satisfy the Resident Labour Market Test; Graduates...

The points you have confirmed are correct. Just make sure your salary is at the "experienced rate". You can put any work start date, as long as its within 3 months of the issue date of your CoS. You can also apply any time, doesn't have to be 28 days or 3 months before the expiry of your visa. Sever...
