Yeah, that's what I read on some document as well. Would have to look up which though. That's what I had in mind when I applied 2-3 weeks ago as well.

arsenal49- I've recently been confused by the extension period. Initially when I was reading up on Tier 2 General last month, on many UKBA pages and documents it was mentioned that the duration of leave to remain in the UK under Tier 2 is 3 years and it is extendable by another 3 years so that the m...

Did you contact them initially somehow or did they contact you on their own? I'm planning to send them a letter. I haven't received a biometrics letter yet so don't think my application has gone to a case worker yet!

Tier 4 and Tier 1 PSW don't count towards the 5 years during which you should be working, but they do count towards a total of 10 years spent in the UK for ILR.

Yeah, 42 hours include an hour of lunch break daily. Isn't there anything I can do before they decide? Fill up the Change in Circumstances form maybe and mention my changed work hours?

Your situation has got me worried as well! My boss wrote in £20300 as my salary (which is the minimum required for a PhD-level job) and my working hours as 42! I only applied last week, hope I had seen your post earlier!

CoS is instant, you get it online right after filling up the form and making the payment.

My company applied for the license on the 14th of July and got it on 20th August.

gasl8- I am switching from PSW to Tier 2, not applying for extension.

Thanks guys, my boss went ahead and applied for the CoS anyway and our doubt was cleared when we saw it.

Start date on CoS

I'm switching from PSW to Tier 2 and my boss is just filling out the form to get a CoS for me. I've been working for the company for the last 1.5 years. As I understand, the start date to be mentioned on the CoS must be in the future, but it doesn't have to be the date after my current leave expires...

PhD level occupations

This may sound stupid, but do you actually need to have a PhD or do you just need one of the following jobs to be classified as having a PhD level job? Occupations skilled to PhD level SOC 2010 2111 Chemical scientists 2112 Biological scientists and biochemists 2113 Physical scientists 2114 Social a...

English requirement evidence

I did an MSc from University of East Anglia 2 years ago and have been on a PSW since then. The online points calculator says I don't need to show any other proof besides this degree but the help and guidance notes for the application say that I need to have a degree equivalent to a UK undergraduate ...

Immigration rules and date of entry

So I'm about to apply for a Tier 2 (General) visa (switching from a PSW). I had been assuming that according to the new rules I would have to be on at least £35k a year after 5 years on Tier 2 in order to apply for an ILR. But today a friend of mine told me that since I entered the UK before the new...

Thanks for your reply!

Would my employer need to show anything else if they tick that box? Or would my payslips do the job?

Maintenance box on CoS

I know this question has probably been asked hundreds of times, but I still wanted to confirm this for my peace and quiet. If my employer ticks the maintenance box while applying for the CoS, do I still need to provide bank statements showing the £900 for 3 months? I wanted to ask because if I don't...
