Re: Salary for tier 2 SOC :2136

Which visa are you currently on? The new entrant thresholds apply to:  Graduates switching into Tier 2 (General) within the UK from the student route or Tier 1 (Post-Study Work);  Graduate recruits where you have used a university “milkround” to satisfy the Resident Labour Market Test;  Graduates...

Re: Tier 2 Visa extension – Confusing inputs from Home Offic

The points you have confirmed are correct. Just make sure your salary is at the "experienced rate". You can put any work start date, as long as its within 3 months of the issue date of your CoS. You can also apply any time, doesn't have to be 28 days or 3 months before the expiry of your visa. Sever...

The IHS number should be towards the end, mine was at the second last page, under the section "Payment". Its in the format IHS123456789.

Re: Unrestricted CoS renewal

I am Awiting for Unrestricted COS. Hi sibychan007 , It will be great, if you specify when did your hr requested to UKBA and when you got the COS. Took my boss a 2-3 weeks to get a new unrestricted allocation, and after that getting a CoS is a matter of minutes. This was in August and my visa is exp...

It might not show it right now but it should show the reference when you print the confirmation. I didn't have to enter the reference in the application.

Re: Priority Visa and CoS questions!

The general rule with start date is that it has to fall within 3 months of the date of issue of your CoS, and you have to apply for the visa within those 3 months as well. So if you apply on the 31st you should be okay, but maybe you should apply earlier if possible.

Re: Tier 2 salary requirement query

Yeah, right now you will need the salary at the minimum rate for your SOC code. If you're a new entrant- under 25 and applying for Tier 2 for the first time - the minimum salary level is much lower than if you were to be considered an experienced worker. You could start at 27k now (assuming that mee...

Re: Time to receive Bio-metric Details Submission Letter

I wouldn't worry just yet if I were you, keep in mind that it also takes Royal Mail 2-3 days to deliver the post, even if the UKVI has issued the letter.

Did you submit the online application on the 13th or is that the day your documents reached the UKVI?

Re: Time to receive Bio-metric Details Submission Letter

You can check the In-country Tier 2 application timelines thread and see how long its been taking for people. It seems to be anywhere from 4-5 days to 2 weeks even! Mine took 4 working days as per the issue date.

Re: Tier 2 (General) Extension with different SOC code

The start date can be any date within 3 months of the issue date of the CoS. It doesn't have to be the day after your visa expires (even though the guidance says so).

I can't help you with your second query unfortunately!

Re: Reagrding going on leave for a month, Tier 2 General

Well I suppose in that case its not unpaid leave anyway, is it? Its just working from home, which several people do. I have a friend who was employed by a company in Norwich on Tier 2 general but would "work-from-home" from Edinburgh where he moved after his wife got a job there. I guess if you're p...

the OP is not going to be absent. He/she is going to be on leave. there is a difference between two. Paid or unpaid leave is still leave.. there are many other kinds of leave too.. like sick leave, paternity leave etc. Absent means not turning up to work without any reason and without telling anyon...

Re: Reagrding going on leave for a month, Tier 2 General

You mean the UKVI? Well I suppose you could come to an arrangement with your company with this. If you say you will work the equivalent of 5 extra days, they can just report on the SMS that you were away for however long you're going for minus those 5 days. I'm just thinking out loud here, that's wh...

Re: Reagrding going on leave for a month, Tier 2 General

Well 4 weeks is 28 days, so maybe you can reduce the number of days you're going away for by a couple of days? Or maybe make up the time for the extra days by working some extra hours before you leave or after you return?

Re: Reagrding going on leave for a month, Tier 2 General

According to the Sponsor Guidance for Tier 2 visa, the migrant is only allowed 4 weeks of unpaid leave in total in one year. The sponsor has to notify the UKVI using the SMS. If its more than 4 weeks then the sponsor would have to stop sponsoring you.

Re: Sponsor Note to adjust Salary for correct no of hours.

Last time I applied for my Tier 2 I was in a similar situation. My boss entered the wrong number of hours (42) instead of 37 and obviously the salary per hour was lower than the minimum requirement. So after talking to the then-UKBA, he added a Sponsor Note correcting the number of hours and I succe...
