Yes, optional. But I heard it speeds up the verification process. I have applied for first time Irish passport and it says I should get it around 26 March. They received all the documents (original naturalisation cert, original passport, copy of Public service card, 2 address proof, identity verific...

Is there anybody received the invitation. I have already got my approval 19/11 but they didn't invite me last December. It was fully booked. Is there anybody here in the same boat.

Re: Travel and re-entry without IRP while waiting for citizenship ceremony?

Ceremony got full in December that's why I wasn't included. So a week after ceremony I requested my H GNIB. I have returned it back. Hoping to attend next ceremony. Hi masterboy, just curious why you were not included in the previous ceremony? Was it because you requested your rip for travel? I have...

Re: Travel and re-entry without IRP while waiting for citizenship ceremony?

I was in similar situation and had to travel due to an emergency. I requested my GNIB back for 1 week and citizenship office were kind enough to facilitate this. I showed them returned paid ticket and the nature of emergency. I have resubmitted my GNIB now and hopefully will be included in Spring 20...

Re: First passport application - question

I have a genuine reason to travel on Christmas with whole family air tickets booked. Hopefully they will make an exception. Do you think I could get Irish passport(first time) in 6 working days if I visit Passport office in Cork? In theory the rapid service is only for those who have a genuine emerg...

Re: First passport application - question

Do you think I could get Irish passport(first time) in 6 working days if I visit Passport office in Cork? Yes they will hold on to it. However, you can submit a certified copy, or you can write to them to request for your passport back a day after you submit it. If you have a genuine reason (e.g. ha...

Section 16 also says "and of the use of the right of free movement of the EEA national (e.g. a registration certificate)." My EU spouse doesn't have this. But working legally in Ireland for the last 6 years. Any thoughts on this? Section 16 (at the end of the page) https://dublin.mfa.gov.hu/eng/page...
