Re: Self Employed statement of Account

Thank you very much. I ordered over the phone. I also wanted to ask. Is it important that address on Self Employment Statement is the same as address I write in Form AN? It is just that we have holiday cottage nearby and we basically live there part-time too. So we get all our post in the same mailb...

Self Employed statement of Account

Hello. I am self-employed. For Naturalisation application they require "The most recent HMRC Self Assesement Statement of Account". I wonder, can I try and print it from the website or should I contact HMRC and ask them to send it to me by post? Is post only option or can I find it on the Internet m...

Joint application discount scrapped?

Hello :)

There used to be discount for couples for joint Naturalisation application?

Did they cancel it and now everybody has to pay separate fee?

Last year it was about 1350 pound for couple, so this year it would be like 1800+ as two separate 900 pounds fees? :(

Thanks! :)

Re: Naturalisation application processing timelines (only)

@Maxwell You can demand something within your rights. 6 month timeline is there exactly for times like these, to ease off the pressure on the services. I cannot see you having any grounds to argue. Please state the cause for your complaint, what exactly will you be demanding from the state? As rega...

Re: Naturalisation application processing timelines (only)

I am a May applicant. Just wanted to tell everyone to chill a bit. Noone promised us that we would get a decision sooner than 6 months' time. The fact that others got the answers earlier doesn't mean we would too. For all we had been told everywhere is that the decisions take up to 6 months. Noone ...

Re: How NCS works question

After your and Wanderer's messages I started to look at it this way too.

So guys, you probably saw a lot of processing speed timelines here and did not notice any difference, correct? :)

Re: How NCS works question

In no way I'm interested in traveling 4 hours to Edinburgh, Casa. And also paying for the service and probably hotel. But if it makes applications quicker by a week on average, then it's worth it. Even 5 days... That's why I asked. Here is what written at Edinburgh NCS: http://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/n...

Re: How NCS works question

So, in other words, you think it does not speed it up? :?

Even 10-20% ?

Maybe you're solicitors who don't like NCS as competitors?

Re: Change of name and application for British Citizenship

Very good question. I also thought about surname change. And I also came to conclusion it is not worth it, at least right now. I mean, you can change your name any time after you get passport. For me, it is priority to get UK citizenship as fast and easy as possible. Name change can wait. But it wou...

Re: How NCS works question

Well, yes. Having original documents is an advantage. But my nationality is such that I can not travel much anyway. But at least less chances that some document gets lost. Do you think it can speed it up at least by 10-20% ? I think it can. Probably it is more comforting for UKBA to see documents we...

Re: How NCS works question

NCS council webpage claim that it may speed up things. I think it may by couple of weeks at least because HO should be more relaxed about applications which were preliminary checked. I wonder, is there any statistics or something, which shows that NCS applications are even slightly faster than stand...

Re: How NCS works question

Thank you. Well, I also wonder, is it worth doing. It is not the question of the fee for sure, after paying so many fees to HO, 120 pounds for a couple to do NCS seems like a joke. I just not sure the guys there have more experience than we have. I wonder, does it generally speed up application proc...

How NCS works question

Hi It would be interesting to find out from people who experienced Nationality Checking Service. After living on various visas for 11 years and making all applications myself, I probably became sort of control freak in this process. But I don't think it's a bad thing. So, my question is, when you do...

I found out about NCS.

You can apply to different place, no matter where you live. Just choose the place you like and make appointment.

Re: NCS in Scottish Highlands

Great, thanks for fast replies! So just to confirm, I can make appointment and just travel to Aberdeen or Edinburgh and they will do NCS for us, no matter that we live far away. Correct? Good luck to your friend! I lived 11 years in this country on different visas, glad that this will be over soon. ...

Re: NCS in Scottish Highlands

On your link there is a list of centres. I wonder, if I live near Inverness, can I go to Edinburgh or Aberdeen and use NCS there? I tried to phone them but they have only answer machines. I mean are they only for local residents who live in those counsels or I can go there too?

Thanks for the link.

It's not important where solicitor is as long as he/she is in UK.

Our ILR solicitor was based in London. All is done by email/post.

Re: NCS in Scottish Highlands

I would prefer if someone could recommend solicitor who can give me quote, like fixed fee for help in preparing and checking application. It may not necessary speed up applicati...

NCS in Scottish Highlands

Hi, thanks in advance for reading this and your help. As far as I understand there is no Nationality Checking Service in Inverness-shire in Scottish Highlands, correct? So if we live here, we have only two options then - apply ourselves or with solicitor? Do I understand correctly? My application sh...

Re: Naturalisation application processing timelines (only)

I agree with Adamboston. Especially strange to see the advice that your solicitor should have British sounding name. Maybe you confuse this country with some other. I don't mean to sound rude but really, maybe you confuse it with your country of origin. The fact that you or your family have money to...
