Re: Change Of Employment - Will it be a Break in Continuous

Your grace period is 60 days from the curtailment decision from the UKBA - I was made redundant in July - my last day was Aug 13 and my previous employer notified the UKBA on Aug 26 (in and around that date anyways). Though I have found a new employer and am awaiting my BRP (ggggrrrrrrr!!), I still ...

Re: Biometric Residence Permit req't? (+ Transfer of Conditi

Adding in (since I can't edit my post!): I was told that I could not work until I have received my BRP though my situation is different as I was made redundant in July from my previous sponsor. Needless to say I am very antsy to receive my BRP already!! I think if you are with the same employer, you...

Re: BRP card for dependant not received..!!help..!!

It seems that everyone else is getting their BRP's within a few working days (just saw a post that someone had applied and was approved Sept 17th and received their BRP on the 22nd) - however, I'm still waiting for mine and it's been a week. Not much you can really do but wait and maybe keep on the ...

Re: Biometric Residence Permit req't? (+ Transfer of Conditi

You are lucky - I had my appointment last Friday and was approved last Friday and I'm still waiting for my BRP. So frustrating. Glad to see you got everything sorted. I still had the old vignette sticker in my passport from my previous employer - it's really frustrating because depending on who you ...

BRP Delivery

Hey Guys - just been doing some searches and seems that most people get their BRP's delivered within 2-3 working days and if you don't receive it, seems that you end up receiving it a month later! Anyways, just wondering what the timeframes were from approval to actually receiving your BRP's l...

Re: Wrong curtailment of leave notice after changing sponsor

I have a feeling I will be in the same boat shortly (was made redundant in July but been approved last week for a new visa with a new sponsor and have not yet received a curtailment letter from my employment with my previous sponsor). I will simply write back to them informing them that I have a new...

Re: In-country Tier 2 application timelines

Still waiting on my biometrics but just seen the person who was approved a day before me has just received their BRP so I'm hoping mine is coming very very shortly (really wanting to start work already!). I've done mine through the premium service but here we go (a team of lawyers also did my appli...

Re: Tier 2 General Visa- Switching Sponsors

I would wait for the visa to be granted and then give notice - that way if anything goes wrong, then you've still got some sort of employment until it can be sorted. Depending on your employer, you may be put automatically on garden leave when you hand in your notice or, you will work all or some of...

Re: Advice on Tier 2 curtailment plz!!

I didn't know this either - I just tried to update my address and it won't let me - says the address that I used for my initial application is invalid (would have been about 2 years ago and was outside the UK) I read somewhere that your employer has to enter your address anyways for the letter - so ...

Made Redundant-New Employer-Which Form?

Hi Guys So, I've been searching on here to find out which form to use and now I'm confused. I was made redundant mid-August this year and my employer was nice enough not to notify the UKBA until their 10 day period. In this time, I've found a new job but I've found some different answers on what for...

Yup turns put my employer only applied for 2 years. They said they would do an extension but how long do they issue extensions for?? I have plans for am ILR eventually but I'm afraid this might not let me do this as my last 2 years don't count towards my 5 years.... :s

visa only valid for 2 years?!

I just got my visa and passport back from the UKBA and I just took a look at it - it's apparently only issued for 2 years?? I thought Tier 2 General was good for 3 years or am I crazy?

I read somewhere that passport stamps and plane ticket stubs (boarding pass) are valid - something "official" that marks you leaving the UK

My understanding (and please correct me if this is wrong), the CoS is valid for 3 months from the date entered on it which means that as soon as the CoS is assigned, you have up to 3 months to submit your application to the UKBA and does not reflect your work start date.

I think I would make the same call :)
I haven't signed anything - my company is issuing my contract based on the successful visa application (which makes perfect sense). All these complications!!

I've got the same option with my company but as it stands, I currently do not have any shares in the company and therefore I am stating that I do not on my application.

Tier 2 Appendix 5

Hi All

Just wondering - when you filled out the Appendix 5 for the Tier 2 visa, what did you put in the summary sheet as "documents provided" for the certificate of sponsorship (in my case RLMT)? Or do you need to as this documentation is provided when the company applies for the CoS?

It's not stated anywhere and I'm not sure it matters - my company had already interviewed quite a number of people for my job prior to even being able to meet me for an interview. Has your company applied for your CoS yet?? My application just went through the other day for the Nov 5 deadline. What ...

CoS is instant, you get it online right after filling up the form and making the payment. My company applied for the license on the 14th of July and got it on 20th August. an unrestricted CoS would be instant - not a restricted one which seems to be what most people need. A restricted CoS is issued...
