Re: Naturalisation Application - English Language Requiremen

I guess my question is will they view an NVQ level 7 as equivalent to a degree? That way I can just take my certificate to NCS and it's sorted.

I really hope that's the case and there won't be any delay to the process.
No.

Hi Thanks for your reply. so no need of NARIC or letter from Uni? do i need to take the original Certi. to NCS or a copy ? have you been throu this process yourself? You do not need a letter from NARIC or the university if the degree was obtained in the UK. The requirement is: Certificate showing t...

Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Pro

I thought that this was one of those documents you won't see again - like proof of Life in the UK test pass - as you won't need it once you become a BC. Any thoughts on this? Should I be worried? No, you shouldn't be worried. They would have photocopied your documents and sent back what they didn't...

Re: Skip ILR and go straight to Naturalisation. Possible?

You need to be free from immigration restrictions when applying. You're restricted if your visa has an expiry date. So, you need ILR/PR at the time of application. If applying for 5 years residency, you'll need to have been free from immigration restrictions (i.e. held ILR) for at least 12 months be...

Re: Got Spouse VISA - What Now?

I thought Biometric Residence Permits were being issued by UKBA instead of the sticker in the passport. Is your wife's visa in her passport or a separate card?

Alternatively, perhaps your wife and you can enter into a lease with your parents? With the rent being a peppercorn.

Re: Got Spouse VISA - What Now?

It's possibly one of the most frustrating things for a foreigner because the ID that most banks accept is ID that most people won't have for awhile after arrival. Does your wife have a bank account in her previous country? Can she change the correspondence address of that account? If so, that can be...

Re: ILR to Citizenship - divorced in India

He doesn't need to file his divorce certificate, as posters above have said.

He should put down whatever the reason for divorce is. Irreconcilable differences or breakdown of marriage should be sufficient.

Re: NCS and Application Date

Your timeline is pretty tight, but make sure you ask NCS if they send the application off that day. You can apply via NCS on 10 March. I would suggest you could apply on 7 March via NCS as the application won't reach UKBA earlier than 10 March. You would count as present in the UK on 13 March 2009. ...

Re: October 2013 - Naturalisation Application Timeline

Non-payment of tax is a grounds for refusal but it depends on the circumstances and whether it was deliberate or not. If it was an innocent mistake where the applicant was on the wrong tax code (e.g. the employer supplied the wrong info) then it's probably not an issue. However, if the applicant for...

It will be on your US record, but is not considered a denial because you're withdrawing the application - and are not being ordered for removal. However, if you do try to re-enter the US, you will want to ensure you comply with any directions given by the Border Agent at the time of your Withdrawal ...

There is a wife page AND a sponsor page. The relationship of the sponsor to you is a drop down box that does not include spouse Is this under the Sponsors Details page? Under the question "What is their relationship to you?" which lists a bunch of relatives and then "Other relative"? If so, I'd cho...

I don't think your daughter has to wait a year - she can apply with your husband. You can apply as soon as your husband is naturalized as a British citizen (if you meet the requirements) as a spouse of a British citizen. If you apply as a spouse of a British citizen, you do not need to hold ILR for ...

Your and your wife satisfy the language requirements if you've obtained degrees in the UK. If you no longer have the original degree certificate, they will accept an academic reference or academic transcript on the University's headed paper with the relevant information. See pages 35-36 on what info...

Your course subject wasn't Computer Science, though. It was Computer Engineering. Your degree is in Engineering so I would go with Engineering.

However, if in doubt, you should get a UK NARIC English Language Assessment.
