Re: Naturalisation for baby with ILE visa

I don't think your daughter has to wait a year - she can apply with your husband. You can apply as soon as your husband is naturalized as a British citizen (if you meet the requirements) as a spouse of a British citizen. If you apply as a spouse of a British citizen, you do not need to hold ILR for ...

Re: UK citizenship query for Qualification

Your and your wife satisfy the language requirements if you've obtained degrees in the UK. If you no longer have the original degree certificate, they will accept an academic reference or academic transcript on the University's headed paper with the relevant information. See pages 35-36 on what info...

As far as I'm aware, GCSE does not qualify. A degree from a UK university does.

Your sponsor is your wife.

What does it say that makes you think it's not your wife?

Re: Urgent Question regarding Degree

Your course subject wasn't Computer Science, though. It was Computer Engineering. Your degree is in Engineering so I would go with Engineering.

However, if in doubt, you should get a UK NARIC English Language Assessment.

Ring up your local surgery and see if the nurse at your local surgery will do it. Alternatively, the nurse or health care worker in NZ could provide the reference - subject to them being a NZ citizen.

Re: More than 450 days

I also have a question of a similar nature which relates to the qualifying period. If it is 5 years and I was on tier 1 for 5 years and then ILR for 1 year is the 5 years made up of 1 year ILR and 4 years tier 1? The reason I ask is because I want to make sure I don't go over the 450 days and at th...

G'day from Perth. You should be applying for your partner visa online, and you've gone to the right site. I am slightly confused with how far you got. Did you register online, receive an email and follow the link to finish registration? You should have then clicked on the link "Apply for Myself" and...

Are they legally separated? If so, she should tick "legally separated". If they have not formalized anything then they are still married so she should tick "married". If she's not applying for naturalisation through being a spouse of a British citizen, then she should just fill in as much as she can...

You need to have ILR or permanent residency before you apply for naturalisation as a non-EU national. If you are the spouse of an EEA national, you will automatically have permanent residence status after your spouse has exercised EEA free movement rights in the UK for any continuous period of 5 yea...

If you have the UK NARIC letter, submit that with your original degree certificate. If you don't, submit the PBS calculator print out along with your original degree certificate. Alternatively, you can bring both to NCS and they'll take whichever one meets the requirement and hand you back any exces...

Apple02, not only has your contribution confused matters, but you've also insulted a number of people who spend quite a bit of their time to contribute to this board. Furthermore, you have no idea what qualifications which member has. If you are unsure of something, it's best to ask a question inste...

Re: Discretion over absences during that final year!

It's not personal discretion. The caseworker cannot exercise the power delegated to him by the Secretary of State irrationally. He cannot say no because he is cranky and got up on the wrong side of the bed. There is an entire section of the UKBA site dedicated to the caseworker instructions and guid...

Can anyone help us to figure out the solution It states "original degree certificate" and does not specify an English translation. If you think it would be difficult to link the PBS calculator print-out with the certificate (e.g. because it's in Cyrillic script), you can get a translation. It won't...

Yes both my husband and I have the ILR at the moment. The plan is that I apply for naturalisation then once I get it, he will apply as we'll on the basis of less than 450 days in the last 4 years. Thx cr001. Have been worried sick over the past few days. They can refuse it if it doesn't have the correct documentation. However, this is not automatic. They may ask for a full certified copy of your passport or the original, or make a decision based on the paperwork they have.

If you're concerned, call UKBA.
