Re: Referee criteria

They are signing that they have known you for 3 years. If they sign the form and provide false information then they risk criminal penalties (e.g. fine and imprisonment).

Re: English language requirement for naturalisation

I found the NCS person I dealt with was very knowledgeable and what she didn't know, she asked UKBA. That being said, it sounds like this person is told what to tell people to bring. She might not be the NCS person who checks your application. So, book the appointment and show up with the documents ...

A letter from your university isn't enough. The points based calculator http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/pointscalculator . You can dummy most questions, but on the English Skills Requirement, put in your degree information, and it will say if you're awarded 10 points. You would need to print off t...

Usually they send all documents (minus the application form and payment) back to you after they've made a decision.
Thanks, that sounds reassuring! Hope a decision is made soon - as they hold no other documents to send back. :)
They have your approval letter to send back! :)

Will any of your children turn 18 in the next 6 months?

If not:
£1550 for you and your wife+
£1178 for your two children (provided neither of them turn 18 during the time your application is considered)
Total: £2728

Re: IT Contractor - help needed with Occupation details

This question is to ensure you've paid the proper taxes to HMRC. You should tick both Director and Employee. Your employer is the entity that pays your salary - not the company that pays the contractor company. Tax office is found on your P60 or the office to which your company pays your income tax ...

Re: Naturalisation query for a divorcee, PLEASE ADVISE !

She will need to explain that she has done LIUK for the purposes of settlement, but that PEO did not return the documents to her, and request that the case officer look up the details on their systems. Honestly, it is a bit odd that if she had a same day appointment, they didn't give all the documen...

Re: Help Please - Naturalization self, Wife and 18+ daughter

1) As per naturalization rule a person has to be physically present at the beginning of 1st year of last 5 year period, for eg. If home office receives my application on 05 Aug 2014 for naturalization then I must be present in UK on 06 Aug 2009. Does the same rule apply for my wife and my daughter ...

We're 12 days into February. Why wouldn't they be working their way through January applications? In order to issue approvals, they need to carry out their checks including verifying referees, etc.

How is this an immigration issue? It sounds like a family court matter where you'll need to seek professional legal advice.

Re: appeal hearing on Article 8 refusal

This is all why we keep saying 'get a good lawyer/solicitor'. You need someone who will take an unknown situation and find relevant situations which could create analogies in your situation. This requires access to the right systems and the right training. You need them to be able to understand the...

In addition to what trend said, also bear in mind that when NCS accepts the application, that's not the date HO receives it. NCS will send the application to HO via post. If your appointment is late on the day, it may miss the postal run and be sent out the next business day. So, if there is any iss...

I guess my question is will they view an NVQ level 7 as equivalent to a degree? That way I can just take my certificate to NCS and it's sorted.

I really hope that's the case and there won't be any delay to the process.

I thought that this was one of those documents you won't see again - like proof of Life in the UK test pass - as you won't need it once you become a BC. Any thoughts on this? Should I be worried? No, you shouldn't be worried. They would have photocopied your documents and sent back what they didn't...

Re: Skip ILR and go straight to Naturalisation. Possible?

You need to be free from immigration restrictions when applying. You're restricted if your visa has an expiry date. So, you need ILR/PR at the time of application. If applying for 5 years residency, you'll need to have been free from immigration restrictions (i.e. held ILR) for at least 12 months be...
